On Monday, November 11 and Tuesday, November 12, CBS’ “The Young and the Restless” will observe Veterans Day with episodes dedicated to U.S. Veterans. According to the network, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will host a fundraiser to honors veterans, while also looking to get closer to her long-lost son, Dylan McAvoy (Steve Burton), who recently completed a tour in Afghanistan. Nikki’s husband, Victor (Eric Braeden), announces a plan to have his company, Newman-Chancellor Enterprises, provide jobs for qualified U.S. veterans, letting people know that he values veterans as driven, goal-oriented employees and advising other employers to seek out these proven leaders.
Goblins and witches and ghosts, oh my! And no, we’re not talking about the millions of children who’ll be cavorting around as such on All Hallow’s Eve next week. As previously reported, CBS’ “The Young and the Restless” is moving to TVGN (née TV Guide Network) beginning Monday, July 1, after spending just over 7 years on SOAPnet. The soap will continue airing same-day episodes Monday through Friday at 7:00 PM ET/PT. In the just released new promo, “Y&R” fans will see Kristoff St. John’s Neil Winters and Angell Conwell’s Leslie Michaelson having a heated convo that turns to passion. In addition to the promo, TVGN has also released the full episode of “The Young and the Restless On Set: InFanity,” the special hosted by St. John that provided viewers with a behind the scenes look at the creation of Genoa City, on YouTube.
In addition to the previously noted on air promo touting the launch of “The Young and the Restless'” same day airings on TVGN beginning Monday, July 1 at 7:00 PM ET/PT, the network has also announced special programming that will surely help provide ample tune in.
In an interview published in the newest issue of Soap Opera Digest, Maria Arena Bell, the former executive producer and head writer of “The Young and the Restless,” shares that the soap submitted episodes #9,999 and #10,000 as part of their Emmy reel in the category of Outstanding Drama Series for the “40th Annual Daytime Entertainment Emmy Awards.”
“The Young and the Restless” will air a special tribute episode to the late Jeanne Cooper on Tuesday, May 28 (12:30-1:30 PM, ET; 11:00 AM-12:00 Noon, PT) on the CBS Television Network. With Jeanne, there was no judgment, no rules. She loved you for you. She always had time for you and was so gracious with her love. For me, she was a personal giant, an sublime example of how to behave on planet Earth. I will miss her more than I can describe. I will say with certainty, that Heaven just got a hell of a lot more interesting! ….God’s speed, my dear friend.
