Born in Brooklyn, NY, Errol Lewis began watching soap operas in 1993 around the time Luke and Laura Spencer (Anthony Geary and Genie Francis) returned to “General Hospital,” but they weren’t what got him watching on a regular basis. “It was Lucy Coe [Lynn Herring] and her duck Sigmond,” he says of how he got started with soaps. “The adventures of Kevin [Jon Lindstrom] and Lucy, and Mac [John J. York] and Felicia [Kristina Wagner] was thrilling drama for me which was not something your typical nine-year-old boy could say about his viewing habits at the time.” Mr. Lewis would soon begin watching all of the soaps including the since departed “All My Children,” “As The World Turns,” “Guiding Light,” “One Life to Live, “Passions,” “Port Charles” and “Sunset Beach. The four soap operas remaining on the air includes “The Bold and the Beautiful,” “Days of our Lives,” “General Hospital,” and “The Young and the Restless.” Splitting his time maintaining the day-to-day functionality of Soap Opera Network, Mr. Lewis is the Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of the website which became a .com service in November 2002. He assumed administrative oversight of the website in early 2003.

In a late Sunday night press release, CBS Corporation announced that it has agreed to acquire Australia’s Network Ten for an undisclosed amount. The deal includes the core linear broadcast network TEN, digital terrestrial television channel (DTT) ELEVEN, which CBS already owned a 33 percent stake in, the DTT channel ONE and Network Ten’s rapidly growing digital platform, TENPLAY. The broadcaster is home to the Australian airings of “The Bold and the Beautiful,” which filmed a number of episodes in the country earlier this year to coincide with its 30th anniversary.

Former “Days of our Lives” star Shawn Christian (ex-Daniel Jonas) is getting “Trapped” in the LGBTQ independent drama written and directed by Katerina Gorshkov. The film tells the story of Scarlet (Allison Gregory, “Rotten”), a girl sent to a wilderness camp for difficult teenagers where she meets another girl named Dylan (Ava Capri, “Little Rituals”). Together, they create a bond that is tested through experiences beyond their perceived realm of existence. Christian will play Peter Evans.

Tequan Richmond (TJ Ashford, “General Hospital”) has been keeping himself busy this summer filming the all-new AwesomenessTV original series, “All Night,” which finds a group of recent graduates taking part in a lock-in graduation party where they spend an entire night doing whatever it takes to make what’s left of their time in high school come true. ABC’s “The Great American Eclipse” brought in the most viewers of any network, cable or broadcast, during the network’s coverage of the first total solar eclipse in 38 years on Monday, August 21. The program, which aired from 1:00-3:00 p.m. EDT, was hosted by “World News Tonight” anchor David Muir and brought in 7.9 million viewers with about 2.1 million in the Adults 25-54 demo, nearly tripling the average of what all-new episodes of “The Chew” and “General Hospital” would have attracted in the time period.
