Just one day after revealing he would be returning to ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars” for its 19th season as a pro dancer on “Good Morning America,” the network announced that Derek Hough will also be joining the cast of “Nashville” for a multi-episode story arc. Hough will portray Noah West, a beguiling and disarming movie star who crosses paths with the Nashville elite following his being cast as the lead in a biopic of a famous country music star.

More than eight months since TMZ reported that Michael Muhney had been fired by Sony Pictures Television from his contract role as Adam Newman on CBS’ “The Young and the Restless” following allegations of groping a co-star’s breasts, the actor has finally broken his silence!
Despite allegations of inappropriate behavior against one of his co-workers, which is said to have led to his firing from CBS’ “The Young and the Restless” last December, Michael Muhney revealed earlier this evening that he was this close to returning to the daytime drama series to reprise his role of Adam Newman.
With the new television season kicking off in just a few weeks, ABC stations that signed up to air the no longer in production daytime talker “Katie” in 2012, following ABC’s decision to secede the 3:00 PM ET/2:00 PM PT network time slot to their affiliates in hopes that most of them would choose to pick up the talk show, has resulted in some of those stations deciding to move the network’s “General Hospital” back to where it aired for more than 25 of its 51+ year run, it was confirmed today by ABC.

On that day, daytime newcomer Burgess Jenkins took over the role of Billy Abbott on CBS’ “The Young and the Restless” from David Tom, who himself succeeded three-time Daytime Emmy Award winning actor Billy Miller in the popular role, but how did Jenkins land himself on daytime’s most watched drama series? “My management called me and they were talking to me about this role, and when they sent me the breakdown on the character, I just fell in love. I absolutely fell in love with Billy,” said Jenkins when Soap Opera Network spoke with the actor in the gifting suite at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, CA as part of Daytime Emmy weekend. “There’s not a whole lot of characters you see that are so multi-layered and interesting that way. I had a chance to meet with the producers to discuss the character and the show, and it just seemed like a good fit,” added Jenkins, who noted that the conversation he had with producers on the character helped give him something to dig into before the cameras began to roll.

While you get yourself prepared to watch daytime’s biggest night online, The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) has announced the presenter lineup for the telecast, which includes several of daytime’s biggest names from soap operas, talk shows and game shows, among many other genres airing during the daypart.
She’s nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her portrayal as Kristen DiMera on NBC’s “Days of our Lives,” and to celebrate Eileen Davidson will appear on the Thursday, June 19 edition of Hallmark Channel’s “Home & Family.” During her taped appearance, Davidson talks with hosts Mark Steines and Christina Ferrare about her nomination, her brief return to “DAYS’ and recently signing a contract with CBS’ “The Young and the Restless,” where she’s portrayed the popular role of Ashley Abbott off and on since 1982. She also reveals that the length of her contract with “Y&R,” which includes the ability to appear on “DAYS” from time to time as well, is for two years. As previously reported on Friday, June 6, The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences issued a casting call for hosts of its red carpet/social media presentation set to air preceding “The 41st Annual Daytime Emmy Awards” on Sunday, June 22. The program will be executive produced by Paul Colichman and Stephen Jarchow of Here Media. Today, NATAS announced that they have hired social media experts Brittany Furlan, Lauren Elizabeth, Jessica Harlow and Meghan Rosette.
As has become tradition, CBS’ “The Talk” will celebrate “The 41st Annual Daytime Emmy Awards” on Monday, June 23, the day after the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences awards daytime’s Outstanding Actors, Personalities and Shows.
