This morning on “Good Morning America,” commentator and long-time “All My Children” cast-member Cameron Mathison (Ryan) announced that production company Prospect Park has officially started approaching the actors on his show with offers to continue on the new version of the 41-year old daytime drama that ends its run on network television on Friday, September 23. Mathison made it apparent that he is eager to commit to the show in whatever format it takes, but are his co-stars on board?

During the next week, ABC Daytime will take part in saying goodbye to “All My Children” which has been a part of their line-up since 1970. Following is details on the scheduled events which will include “Good Morning America” dedicating a special segment to the show and “The View” dedicating an entire airing to their former neighbors.

Susan Lucci’s memoir “All My Life,” a New York Times Bestseller, hit book stores on March 29, 2011. On September 13, 2011, the paperback edition of the book will be released with a new chapter where the actress, who is regarded as one of the biggest names on daytime television, tells fans what she really thinks about a multitude of events surrounding the ABC Daytime cancellation of “All My Children.”

Moments before the announcement that production company Prospect Part had licensed “All My Children” and “One Life to Live” from ABC and saved it from imminent cancellation, it was announced that Debbi Morgan (Angie) had already signed on to “The Young and the Restless.” She will debut on the popular CBS soap this fall. Not too long after that, Jacob Young (JR) announced that he was unable to ignore the call back to “The Bold and the Beautiful.” He returns as Rick Forrester on Monday, September 26. At this moment, Prospect Park is still trying to work out a deal with the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA) that will allow them to begin negotiating with actors for a hopeful January 2012 relaunch of both ABC soaps. This leaves the actors of “AMC” with free time and a contract with ABC that dissolved earlier this week. In the September 13, 2011 issues of Soap Opera Digest and Soap Opera Weekly, it is revealed that Alicia Minshew and Chrishell Stause have also both been contacted to join another soap.

Friday, September 23, 2011 may be the final airdate for “All My Children” on ABC, but Wednesday, August 31, 2011 marked the last date an actor was under contract with the drama series since the filming of the soaps pilot episode in late 1969.

This evening, ABC confirmed the list of contestants for the 13th season of “Dancing with the Stars.” The list leaked earlier today on Twitter proved to be accurate. Both lists included actor J.R. Martinez, 28, from “All My Children.” Martinez is a veteran of the Iraq war and a highly sought-after motivational speaker for the causes that effect his fellow veterans. He joined the 41-year old ABC soap as Brot Monroe in November of 2008. Martinez follows in the foot steps of former “DWTS” winner Kelly Monaco (Sam, “General Hospital”) and his “AMC” co-stars and former “DWTS” contestants Cameron Mathison (Ryan) Susan Lucci (Erica) and Aiden Turner (ex-Aidan).

Joining Martinez will be a slew of figures from the entertainment (actors, reality stars, commentators, and musicians) and sports world including:

Susan Lucci has taken to Twitter by announcing that she is heading into her final week of taping at ABC’s “All My Children,” although she doesn’t make it clear whether or not she will be moving on to the Prospect Park version of the soap when it debuts in January 2012.

“All My Children” will end its network television run in just five weeks on Friday, September 23, 2011. The soap that houses the biggest name in the history of daytime drama, Susan Lucci, debuted on ABC on January 5, 1970. The entertainment industry is set to pay tribute to the show that left its mark on pop culture with several specials installments that fans will not want to miss out on.

As previously reported, the cast of “All My Children” have received offers from Prospect Park to return to the series upon re-launch in January 2012, nearly four months after the series completes its ABC run. According to Deadline Hollywood’s Nellie Andreeva, Prospect Park is offering Susan Lucci (Erica Kane) virtually the same salary she’s currently receiving from ABC.

One of the first high-profile returns announced following news of the cancellation of “All My Children” on ABC this past April was that of Carol Burnett as Verla Grubbs. Soap Opera Network has learned Burnett will mark her re-entrance into Pine Valley society on Tuesday, September 6. The comedic legend started taping her scenes this past Friday, August 12. Burnett is expected to appear in several episodes of the soap.

On Friday, August 12, both Soap Opera Network and Soap Opera Digest reported SOAPnet’s post “All My Children” schedule (Monday, September 26), which included the insertion of “Brothers & Sisters” re-runs and the shuffling of more than 80% of the schedule into different time periods. Other than “Days of our Lives” picking up a primetime spot (8:00 PM ET/PT), nothing caught reader attention more than the network announcing classic episodes of “All My Children,” “General Hospital” and “One Life to Live.” So what is a classic episode according to the network?

Agnes Nixon is returning to ABC’s “All My Children,” for which she created, to once again portray the role of Agnes Eckhart, one of the longest reigning board members overseeing the fictional Pine Valley Hospital on the daytime soap. The character, who was created by Nixon herself, first appeared on the drama series in 2005 for the shows 35th anniversary. This time the character will be admitted to PVH under the care of David Hayward (Vincent Irizarry) and Cara Martin (Lindsay Hartley).

Beginning on Monday, September 12 look for John O’Hurley to debut in the role of film producer Kit Sterling on “All My Children.” Mr. Sterling will approach Pine Valley’s leading lady Erica Kane (Susan Lucci) in an effort to convince her to turn her new book, “Erica Kane: Uncensored,” into a big-screen production. O’Hurley is best known for the recurring role of Elaine’s (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) boss John Peterman on the former NBC mega-hit series “Seinfeld” and his stint on the first season of ABC’s hit reality series “Dancing with the Stars.” He also hosted the popular syndicated game show “Family Fued.”

On Friday, ABC Daytime finally announced the return to the canvas that “All My Children” viewers were most anticipating since the news of the 41-year old daytime drama’s cancellation on ABC back in April. David Canary is returning to the 41-year old daytime drama as the one and only Adam Chandler. His return will coincide with the returns of long-time veterans Julia Barr, Ray MacDonnell and Lee Meriwether. The foursome will return to the Los Angeles studio to tape their scenes next month and are slated to air in approximately a handful of episodes this September

“One Life to Live’s” Robert S. Woods (Bo) will be among those honored at HeartShare Human Services of New York’s Annual Spring Gala on Thursday, March 24. Woods will be honored withThe Linda Dano Heart Award for his support of the organization, which is “dedicated to improving the lives of people in need of special services and support.”

Just days before next cycle’s “Dancing with the Stars” cast is announced during Monday’s episode of ABC’s “Bachelor Pad,” comes word that actor Jack Wagner, who portrays Nick Marone on CBS’ “The Bold and the Beautiful,” is rumored to be joining the cast in the upcoming 11th season of the hit ABC reality-competition series.
