“The Young and the Restless'” Greg Rikaart (Kevin Fisher) will soon be pulling double duty after booking a multi-episode arc on TNT’s “Major Crimes,” reports TVLine.

So you probably have already heard that Netflix green-lit a revival of the popular ABC comedy series “Full House,” but you probably didn’t know that said house, titled “Fuller House,” will also include some familiar names from the soap opera world.

In the newest issue of Soap Opera Digest, on newsstands now, it’s revealed that Serena Mason will become the first victim of the upcoming serial killer storyline on NBC’s “Days of our Lives.” The news doesn’t come as much of a surprise considering the character was one of the first reported to be leaving Salem following the hiring of a new head writing regime earlier this year. In an interview with the magazine, portrayer Melissa Archer talks about how she found out about her character dying, what’s next in her career and how Serena meets her maker!

Four individuals connected by blood, friendship, sex, and love are dragged into the classic battle between good versus evil. No that’s not the description for an arc on ABC’s “General Hospital” or CBS’ “The Young and the Restless,” but the online drama “Pride: The Series,” which features “GH’s” Ilene Kristen (Delia Ryan) and “As The World Turns'” actress Lauren B. Martin (ex-Camille Bennett) as special guest stars. Recently, the series became an official selection of Miami Web Fest, a 10-day festival that showcases the hottest new web series around the world. The festival begins Friday, September 25 and culminates on Sunday, October 4 with the Miami Web TV Awards.

While “General Hospital” seems to be collapsing before our eyes in the Nielsen ratings, CBS continues to succeed with its winning lineup of “The Bold and the Beautiful,” “The Young and the Restless,” “The Price is Right,” “Let’s Make a Deal” and “The Talk.”

With news that Pop will now air same-day rebroadcast episodes of NBC’s “Days of our Lives,” along with the already airing rebroadcasts of CBS’ “The Bold and the Beautiful” and “The Young and the Restless,” one can only wonder if the the network may have plans of airing rebroadcasts of ABC’s “General Hospital” as well. Sadly, that’s not the case.

As the mystery of who killed Silas Clay (Michael Easton) mounts this week on ABC’s “General Hospital,” we’re told “every clue, every witness brings you one step closer to who dunnit” in a newly released promo for the daytime drama series.

If it’s even possible to imagine, after several years performing on soaps, on screen and on the stage, actress Ilene Kristen (“General Hospital,” “One Life to Live,” “Ryan’s Hope”) has only just recently released her debut album.

Eight months after it was announced that he would be vacating the role of Kyle Sloane on ABC’s “General Hospital” comes word that actor Robb Derringer will be reprising the role he originated from outgoing “As The World Turns” alum Grayson McCouch (ex-Dusty Donovan). Sources tell Soap Opera Network that producers decided to take the character in a different direction, which prompted the change.

As previously reported, “General Hospital” will soon be saying goodbye to scribe Ron Carlivati and hello again to co-head writers Shelly Altman and Jean Passanante when the team officially takes over writing duties next month, with material not expected to fully hit the screen until mid-October, according to insiders. But what forced ABC to make a change in its writing regime? Ratings, of course! Thirteen consecutive weeks of ratings lows that is.

With 13 consecutive weeks of record low ratings in the key Women 18-49 sales demo, ABC announced today that it has decided to oust “General Hospital’s” current head writer, Ron Carlivati, and replace him with newly appointed co-head writers Shelly Altman and Jean Passanante. The duo, who will officially take over writing reins beginning Monday, August 10, previously served together in the same capacity at CBS’ “The Young and the Restless” up until January of this year. They won two consecutive Emmy Awards for Outstanding Drama Series Writing Team for their work on “Y&R” during their tenure.
