In a posting last week on its Facebook page, shortly after word that the Supreme Court of the United States had found the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) unconstitutional, the NOH8 campaign displayed a photo compilation of “Days of our Lives” cast members posing in support of the charitable organization whose mission is “to promote marriage, gender and human equality through education, advocacy, social media, and visual protest.” The photo included actors Blake Berris, Eileen Davidson, Greg Vaughan, Kristian Alfonso, Bill Hayes, Lauren Koslow, Deidre Hall, Suzanne Rogers, Freddie Smith, Joseph Mascolo, Nathan Owens, Kate Mansi and Galen Gering, among others.

As noted in our recent interview with Greg Meng, co-executive producer, “Days of our Lives,” the NBC Daytime soap opera is releasing “Days of our Lives Better Living: Cast Secrets for a Healthier, Balanced Life,” a new book that delves into five better living topics – nutrition, exercise, style, inspiration and balance.

Since the news broke that former “All My Children” star Chrishell Stause (ex-Amanda Dillon) had joined “Days of our Lives,” information about her new gig has been sparse. Until now! Soap Opera Network recently chatted with the actress, and she was able to reveal a few new details regarding her latest alter ego!

NBC’s “Days of our Lives” is continuing its nationwide fan event tour this February when cast members of the series gather throughout Universal Orlando Restort in Florida, including a meet and greet with fans at the parks Universal CityWalk. The event will be held on Saturday, February 23.

As expected, NBC has renewed “Days of our Lives” through September 2014. The news comes just days after NBC Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt said, “I think ‘DAYS’ is going to stick around,” during NBC’s portion of the Television Critics Association winter press tour. “I don’t know that I’m at liberty to say that officially yet, but it’s not going anywhere,” Greenblatt added. The “DAYS” renewal was announced today by Jennifer Salke, President, NBC Entertainment.

Because we were working overtime trying to get the re-designed website up while also transferring servers, we didn’t get a chance to report on this. For those who may have missed out on it all, E! is debuting a new reality series that actually covers the behind the scenes lives of some of your favorite soap stars for a change and not those “Real Housewives” we’ve gotten bored with from network sibling Bravo.

As previously reported, “Days of our Lives” has cast daytime newcomer Francisco San Martin in the role of Dario Hernandez, Rafe (Galen Gering) and Gabi’s (Camila Banus) brother. Interestingly, the actor previously appeared on “DAYS” in mid-November in the role of Javier Rodriguez, a sick patient that died as he was causing a deadly outbreak at Salem University Hospital while in the presence of Melanie (Molly Burnett) and Nathan (Mark Hapka).
