With anticipation of returning characters, historic moments, and happy memories upon us as “Days of our Lives” celebrates its 50th anniversary later this fall, the daytime drama series is set to release a new photo book titled “Days of our Lives: 50 Years,” which was pieced together by co-executive producer Greg Meng. As part of the release, a multi-city promotional tour has been scheduled.

“It’s impossible to forget Samantha Brady!” declared Caroline (Peggy McCay) on yesterday’s episode of “Days of our Lives,” exactly mirroring the thoughts that many of the sudser’s fans have had on their minds leading up to star Alison Sweeney’s last episode today. Many tears have been shed (both onscreen and off), but was the character’s exit really movie magic? Or would a completely different ending been the way to go?

Strolling into a large and quiet stage space just north of Hollywood, “Days of our Lives’” James Scott (ex-EJ DiMera) looks as gorgeous as ever. But it’s not the “tall, dark and handsome” thing he usually emanates that’s turning heads. Rather, it’s a calm, relaxed and seriously happy vibe that’s giving him a remarkable glow and an aura of magnetism. You don’t want to sit next to him because he’s cute; you want to sit next to him because he’s happy. So much so, it appears it just might rub off. And the reason that the actor is all smiles? He tells Soap Opera Network that, completely free of a soap opera contract for the first time in 10 years after a combined run as EJ and “All My Children’s” Ethan Cambias, he is well-rested, inspired, and looking forward to the next chapter in his thus-far very charmed life.

A deafening shot rang out on Friday’s episode of “Days of our Lives,” but the piercing blast wasn’t able to drown out cries from fans who realized that the bullet probably spelled the end of EJ (James Scott). And once the howling began — onscreen and off — it built into a frenzy leading up to the character’s final moments in Salem, which played out on today’s episode. But just how powerful were the scenes, which seemingly put the nail in the coffin for the relationship between EJ and Sami (Alison Sweeney), as well? And was the story the best way for Scott’s alter ego to be written off the canvas?

As previously reported, cast members of NBC’s “Days of our Lives” will once again take part in a special “Day of DAYS” fan event scheduled to take place on Saturday, November 8 at Universal CityWalk in Hollywood. This year the celebration takes place on the actual 49th anniversary of the daytime drama series, making it all the more special for fans looking to see their favorite Salemites in person. As always, the event is free and will begin at 10:00 AM with a “Day of DAYS” welcome party with cast introductions, followed by autograph signings, a cast Q&A session, photo booth fun for fans and much more.  The day will culminate with a preview of an upcoming episode of the drama series immediately following the cast Q&A.

There’s never a dull moment on “Days of our Lives,” especially where Kate Roberts is concerned. And rumor is, this fall will prove to be even more of an emotional journey for the Mad World Cosmetics CEO! Soap Opera Network caught up with the character’s portrayer, Lauren Koslow, to get the scoop on what’s to come as the days in Salem — and the town’s residents — get colder!

“Days of our Lives’” Kate (Lauren Koslow) wasn’t the only one who was shocked when Jordan (Chrishell Stause) hauled back and slapped her across the face for sleeping with Rafe (Galen Gering): Viewers were a bit surprised to see the formerly timid physical therapist continue to grow her backbone, as well. And when Soap Opera Network recently caught up with Stause, she revealed that this is only the beginning of her alter ego’s catty side. In fact, Jordan will be getting tougher and tougher as more and more secrets about her unfold!

Thursday, June 12 will mark the final appearance of Camila Banus on NBC’s “Days of our Lives” as Gabi Hernandez shares an emotional goodbye with her brother Rafe (Galen Gering), Will Horton (Guy Wilson) and Sonny Kiriakis (Freddie Smith), among others, as she prepares for the next phase in her life. Before she goes, however, it was revealed in today’s episode that the character played a pivotal role in the death of former lover Nick Fallon (Blake Berris).

The Great White North is currently experiencing quite a “dramatic” invasion: Several stars from NBC’s “Days of our Lives” have crashed into Canada for an exciting promotional tour!

As previously reported, Jade Harlow is joining the cast of NBC’s “Days of our Lives” in a recurring role. Now Soap Opera Network can report that the former “Passions” actress will be playing Sheryl, an old friend of Jordan’s (Chrishell Stause), who mixes it up with Kate (Lauren Koslow), Lucas (Bryan Dattilo), Rafe (Galen Gering) and Sami (Alison Sweeney).

If you’re looking to set some resolutions for 2014 and need some inspiration, look no further! Soap Opera Network asked “Days of our Lives” and “General Hospital” stars to open up on how they hope to improve themselves and their lives in the year to come, and they were none too shy to shed some light on the ways they’re setting out to achieve greatness. Bonus: They also threw in some opinions on how their characters should approach 2014, as well! Read on for the fun, and happy New Year from Soap Opera Network!

Whether it’s parties or church events or cooking (oh my!), shopping or wrapping or snow shoveling (oh why?), the stars of “General Hospital” and “Days of our Lives” will be quite busy this holiday season! But don’t worry: Before the casts took off for their fun-filled Christmas break, Soap Opera Network managed to catch a few actors and get the scoop on how they plan to spend the next two weeks ahead!

For all intents and purposes, “Days of our Lives” Galen Gering (Rafe Hernandez) has had one of the best gigs in Los Angeles as of late. Not only was he getting paid to hang out in a bed all day while his alter ego was in a coma, he’s had the recent fortune of playing the recovery part of the story, which is a physical challenge that rarely falls into an actor’s lap. The result: Some standout scenes of Rafe re-learning to walk that prove Gering has some acting legs to stand on!

On Thursday, October 17, several LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender) organizations and individuals celebrated Spirit Day, which asks people to take a stand against bullying and show support for LGBT youth by wearing the color purple. NBC’s “Days of our Lives” took a stand and showed its support as cast members donned purple shirts, jackets and even ties.
