Just as the long memorial day holiday weekend was getting ready to begin word broke that “The Young and the Restless” was recasting the role of Billy Abbott. According to Daytime Confidential, “Y&R” has decided to go in a different direction with the character and has let David Tom go. He is being replaced by actor Burgess Jenkins.
Lifetime’s “Drop Dead Diva” is set to premiere its sixth and final season this March and a slew of former daytime stars have signed on to send the critically acclaimed drama series off in style.

In the weeks and months following the October 2012 season finale, Lifetime announced it had canceled “Diva” as it reportedly did not fit within their “brand” of programming. When all seemed lost Sony Pictures Television, producers of the series, was able to work out a deal with Lifetime that allowed the show to return for a fifth season. Today Lifetime and Sony announced that “Diva” will return for a sixth season in 2014.
