With just one month left before the premiere of Lifetime’s “Devious Maids,” the cable network has released key art material highlighting Ana Ortiz (“Ugly Betty”), Dania Ramirez (“Entourage”), Roselyn Sanchez (“Without a Trace”), Edy Ganem (“Livin’ Loud”) and Judy Reyes(“Scrubs”) as five ambitious maids who, while working for the rich and famous in Beverly Hills, dream of wealthy lives of their own. Sadly, murder is at the center of their world as one of their fellow maids is murdered and the quintet makes it their mission to find out who committed the heinous crime. “Maids” also stars Susan Lucci (ex-Erica Kane, “All My Children”), Matt Cedeno (ex-Brandon Walker, “Days of our Lives”) and Brianna Brown (ex-Lisa Niles, “General Hospital”). Look for the series to premiere Sunday, June 23 at 10:00 PM ET/9:00 PM CT on Lifetime.

On Friday, May 21, 1999, Susan Lucci won her first Daytime Emmy Award in any category after portraying the iconic Erica Kane for (at the time) nearly 30 years on ABC’s “All My Children.” On Tuesday, May 21, 2013, 14 years after winning in the category of Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, fans are still pondering whether the actress will reprise her role on the soap opera now that it’s back in production via Prospect Park’s The OnLine Network. In the meantime, tell us where you were on that special night when one of daytime television’s biggest stars won the coveted award.

With weekly episodes of “All My Children” now reduced to just two originals (down from the previously scheduled four), Prospect Park’s The OnLine Network has released a revised breakdown schedule of episodes for the weeks of May 27 and June 3, 2013.

In a video highlighting their YouTube Channel, TOLNSoaps, Prospect Park’s The OnLine Network has the cast of “All My Children” talking about all the handy little features and noteworthy items.

On Thursday, May 16, Prospect Park announced its plan to reduce the episode orders of both “All My Children” and “One Life to Live” from the previously planned 168 original episodes per year (excluding Friday “MORE” shows) to just 110 episodes. Fans remain divided on whether the stated reasons behind the change from four original episodes to just two per week was in fact due to the binge viewing the company claimed in their press release or some bigger reason(s) we’re all not privy to, however, the company does admit they can quickly change things should the demand catch up to the supply.

For the first time ever fans of “All My Children” and “One Life to Live” will be able to watch a legal copy of the premiere episodes of both soaps, which launched on Monday, April 29 via Hulu, Hulu Plus and iTunes. Just a short time ago, Prospect Park’s The OnLine Network uploaded the premiere episodes on its TOLNSoaps YouTube page for the viewing pleasure of fans all around the world (ie. no region cap). “TOLNSoaps on Youtube is a hub for all fans of the shows, a place to watch Behind the Scenes content, Recaps, Previews and Interviews through a platform that allows for free streaming on all devices including mobile. Subscriptions to the TOLNSoaps channel on Youtube is free,” read a notice sent out to fans signed up for the TOLN newsletter.

It remains unclear whether it was done in anticipation of the recent schedule change and the subsequent carriage loss by FX Canada, but we can report that both “All My Children” and “One Life to Live” are now available for download on the Canadian iTunes store. According to both the “AMC” and “OLTL” iTunes Canada pages, the shows were first listed on iTunes Canada on Monday, May 13. Episodes are currently priced at $9.99 for multi-pass access or $1.99 per episode.

As a result of Prospect Park’s announcement that it had reduced the amount of episodes aired each week of “All My Children” and “One Life to Live,” FX Canada has announced that it has dropped both soaps from its lineup with reruns of “30 Rock” taking over the timeslot effective Monday, May 20.

According to a report by Deadline Hollywood, Prospect Park’s The OnLine Network has opted to reduce the yearly episode orders of both “All My Children” and “One Life to Live” from 168 to 110. In addition, new episodes of “AMC” will now be made available on Mondays and Wednesdays, while new episodes of “One Life to Live” will be available on Tuesdays and Thursdays via Hulu, Hulu Plus and iTunes. The “MORE” recap shows will continue to be provided on Fridays. The change goes into effect beginning Monday, May 20.

Fans of “All My Children’s” Marick clan are no doubt going to be over the moon with the latest person slated to return to Pine Valley: Michael Nadar’s popular character, Dimitiri!

According to a press release from The OnLine Network, Brooke English (Julia Barr) calls Dimitri back to town and offers him a job as head of one of Chandler Enterprises’ new divisions. Lucky for fans, the Hungarian Count gracefully agrees, meaning he’ll be sticking around in town for quite some time!

As previously reported, The Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History and the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences have partnered up to amass a collection of costumes, scripts, photographs, props, awards and other materials recognizable to daytime fans for a special Daytime Television exhibit. The museum held a special ceremony today, May 9, to not only celebrate the partnership, but to also officially launch a three-year artifact collecting initiative and to announce the first items to be lent for the exhibit!

As previously reported, Matthew Cowles is returning his dastardly evil character Billy Clyde Tuggle to “All My Children” beginning Thursday, May 16. In a newly released image from The OnLine Network, Billy Clyde is about to butt heads with Ray MacDonnell’s Dr. Joe Martin, in what appears to be a motel room.

In a growing list of popular artists appearing on or performing in episodes of “All My Children” and “One Life to Live,” including Hot Chelle Rae on today’s “AMC,” The OnLine Network has announced that multi-platinum recording artist Jason Derulo will perform on the soaps Wednesday, July 3 episode. The episode finds the artist appearing as himself singing his new single “The Other Side” after receiving an invite to perform as part of a gala event hosted by Brooke English (Julia Barr).

In a new interview with the Los Angeles Times, Susan Lucci talks about a possible return to “All My Children” as her iconic character, Erica Kane, and the possibility of hearing the character utter some expletives, which is now okay since the show is on the internet.

The OnLine Network has announced that Matthew Cowles is returning to “All My Children” as his now undead character, Billy Clyde Tuggle, who resurfaces to cause some trouble as the owner of an escort service. The actor, who debuts on Thursday, May 16, will play a role in helping find Cassandra Foster, Angie and Jesse Hubbard’s (Debbi Morgan and Darnell Williams) daughter, who was recently kidnapped as part of a sex trafficking ring. The character will also interact with Dixie Martin (Cady McClain), who fans will recall Billy Clyde was trying to get to marry him before he plunged to his “death” more than 20 years ago.

With all of the SORASing that happens on daytime soaps, fans often forget about the tikes that once played some of their favorite characters — or worse, sometimes even overlook the current youngsters on the shows! But these Hollywood starlets are the future of the industry, and judging from all of the soap talent who took home awards from this past weekend’s Young Artist Awards, they’re out to prove it!

The OnLine Network has confirmed the casting of Brooke Newton as Colby Chandler on “All My Children.” SON Insider watchers will have noted in our ON THE RED CARPET feature covering the premiere of “AMC” at the NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts two weeks ago that Newton had been cast in the contract role of Adam Chandler (David Canary) and Liza Colby’s (last played by Jamie Luner) “spoiled entitled daughter,” per a description released by TOLN. Newton takes over the role previously played by Natalie Hall on the ABC incarnation and first airs on Thursday, May 16.
