Investigation Discovery announced today that it has greenlit a third season of its hit series, “Deadly Affairs.” Hosted by Susan Lucci (“All My Children”), the series provides audiences with titillating tales of murder and mayhem after relationships begin to falter. The program was one of ID’s top five shows in the 3rd quarter of 2013 in Women 25-54, Women 18-49 and Persons 25-54. In P2+, “Affairs” reached over 9.7 million unique viewers. The new season will premiere in summer 2014.

CBS’ “The Bold and the Beautiful” will be joining sister soap “The Young and the Restless” on cable for the first time ever when it begins airing encore episodes on TVGN (TV Guide Network) beginning Monday, December 2 at 6:30 PM ET/PT, it was announced today by Brad Schwartz, President, Entertainment and Media, TVGN and Bradley P. Bell, Executive Producer and Head Writer, “The Bold and the Beautiful.”
TVGN will encore the prior day’s episodes of “B&B” immediately preceding encore airings of “Y&R.” Additionally, TVGN will begin airing the five most recent episodes of the soap back-to-back every Sunday beginning Sunday, December 8 from 11:00 AM ET/PT to 1:30 PM ET/PT.

TNT has announced that the third season of “Dallas” will kick off on Monday, February 24, which will be the first season without actor Larry Hagman and his iconic character J.R. Ewing. Hagman died just before season two premiered, and as a result the show was forced to kill off the character as well. In season three, Patrick Duffy’s Bobby Ewing is now the senior member of the Ewing family following the death of his older brother. John Ross (Josh Henderson) is out to prove he can be just as powerful an ally or enemy as his infamous father. Meanwhile, Bobby’s adopted son Christopher (Jesse Metcalfe) is newly single and determined to make a name for himself and his family in the world of natural gas. John Ross and Christopher’s former girlfriend, Elena Ramos (Jordana Brewster), is now blinded by thoughts of justice for previous wrongs.
As previously reported, Billy Miller is departing CBS’ “The Young and the Restless” and the role of Billy Abbott, which garnered him two Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series. After the actor and Sony Pictures Television failed to reach an agreement on a new contract, the studio and CBS opted to replace Miller with David Tom, who actually originated the role of an adult Billy Abbott in 1999.
Hot on the heels of “All My Children” being given its second cancellation notice in as many years, Debbi Morgan (ex-Angela Hubbard) has quickly found herself back on her feet. The actress has signed on to star in the new Starz drama, “Power,” which is being co-executive produced by rapper 50 Cent. Tweeted Morgan, “Happy 2 announce I’ll B joining the cast of the new series “Power” 4 the Starz network in the recurring role of ‘Estelle.'” Morgan’s character is the mother of Naturi Naughto’s Tasha St. Patrick.
In celebration of its “Home for the Holidays” campaign, ABC announced today plans to incorporate United States Veterans in upcoming episodes of its daytime and primetime programming, including “Modern Family,” “Last Man Standing” and “General Hospital.” Comedy “The Neighbors” will offer a veteran the opportunity to shadow one of their directors as they put an episode together. Meanwhile, “The View” and “The Chew” will support the vets with various themed episodes throughout the holiday season.
With word that Tristan Rogers would be departing ABC’s “General Hospital” and returning to CBS’ “The Young and the Restless,” it was only a matter of time before fans heard from the actor himself on the abrupt change in status from one soap to the next. Said Rogers on Twitter of his “GH” experience, “I’d like to thank Frank [Valentini, executive producer] and Ron [Carlivati, head writer] for great storyline that kept Scorpio true to himself.” On his “Y&R” return Rogers said, “I’m stoked on Colin’s return to #YR in 2014 and delighted to once again be a part of the CBS Daytime family.”
Friday, November 15 was a busy day for CBS’ “The Young and the Restless” and its cast members. On that day it was announced that Amelia Heinle (Victoria Newman) had signed a new deal with the daytime drama series and Sean Carrigan (Stitch Rayburn) had been upped to contract status. The news wasn’t so great for fans of Billy Miller (Billy Abbott), who is currently in a stalemate with producers of the soap opera. Miller, whose contract is set to expire next month, has yet to sign a new deal and it’s being reported that recent casting calls for caucasian males are smoke screens for the show to instead cast a replacement for the actor.
With sudden word that Tristan Rogers would soon be departing ABC’s “General Hospital,” one could only imagine what may have been the catalyst behind the actor’s decision. Looks like a move [back] to “The Young and the Restless” may have persuaded the actor to say goodbye once more to Port Charles’ Robert Scorpio and hello again to Genoa City’s Colin Atkinson, Cane Ashby’s (Daniel Goddard) father. A spokesperson for the CBS drama series confirms to Soap Opera Network that the actor is returning to the soap in early 2014.
The return of Tristan Rogers (Robert Scorpio) to “General Hospital” is short lived, it seems. According to head writer Ron Carlivati, the actor will be leaving the canvas in February. “I had no idea @tristanrogers was leaving. I found out last night. I now have 1 day to write him out of a big Feb Sweeps storyline,” Carlivati tweeted earlier today. He added, “Meanwhile, you will see a lot of Robert between now and February! And please respect @tristanrogers and his decision. Thanks.”
On Tuesday, November 12, “The Young and the Restless'” Jess Walton (Jill Foster Abbott) and Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki Newman) answered fan questions via CBS Connect, the premiere online social connection platform amongst the broadcast networks, which includes live chats with CBS stars via Twitter. Using the hashtag #AskYR, the chat with fans lasted roughly 35 minutes, which included questions varying from discussion on the Veterans day episodes, whether or not the ladies were able to come up with plots or storylines for their characters, which is particularly reserved for the writers of the show, as well as what their very first acting jobs were, just to name a few of the questions.
On Friday, November 15, “The Young and the Restless'” Marco Dapper (ex-Carmine Basco) will be taking part in “The Space Gallery ART ATTACK,” which is being presented by The Kollaborative. Dapper will present six pieces of his own artwork alongside artists Chase, Sebastien Walker, MDMN, Ostrich, Paul Allison III, Masonfish, Justin Lemus and John Bryars.

With word that Prospect Park may or may not be in the process of formally announcing plans to not continue with production on “All My Children,” in addition to the previously reported production hiatus for “One Life to Live” and how such a decision may affect the fans who fought so long and hard to get them both back, “OLTL” actress Robin Strasser (Dorian Lord) tweeted in defense of the company without knowing what the ultimate decision may end up being (historically the actors know less information than the soap press when it comes to the company and its planning).
The ABC Television Network and Gray Television, Inc. announced today that they have reached a new affiliation agreement that allows Gray Television to broadcast ABC’s full programming schedule in Laredo, Texas beginning in February 2014 using KGNS digital channel 8.2. Programming includes ABC’s primetime lineup, “Good Morning America,” “World News,” “Jimmy Kimmel” and ABC’s Daytime programming including “General Hospital.”
On Monday, November 11 and Tuesday, November 12, CBS’ “The Young and the Restless” will observe Veterans Day with episodes dedicated to U.S. Veterans. According to the network, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will host a fundraiser to honors veterans, while also looking to get closer to her long-lost son, Dylan McAvoy (Steve Burton), who recently completed a tour in Afghanistan. Nikki’s husband, Victor (Eric Braeden), announces a plan to have his company, Newman-Chancellor Enterprises, provide jobs for qualified U.S. veterans, letting people know that he values veterans as driven, goal-oriented employees and advising other employers to seek out these proven leaders.
Amazon, Inc. announced today the premiere date of “Alpha House,” a new comedy that features former “All My Children” heartthrob Mark Consuelos (ex-Mateo Santos) as one of four United States senators-turned-unlikely-roommates renting a house in Washington, D.C. The series, which also stars John Goodman, Clark Johnson and Matt Malloy, will premiere on Friday, November 15 with the first three of its eleven episode first season being made available to all Amazon Prime Instant Video customers online and via Kindle Fire, iPad, iPhone, Roku, Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Wii and Wii U, as well as other connected devises. In addition to announcing the premiere date for “Alpha House,” Amazon also announced the launch date for its other new comedy, “Betas” – Friday, November 22, which follows four friends as they work to make it rich with a new mobile social networking application.
Soap Opera Network Insider hits the red carpet with the cast of “One Life to Live” for the world premiere of the rebooted soap via The OnLineNetwork. “OLTL” premieres Monday, April 29 on Hulu, Hulu Plus and iTunes.
Later this evening “One Life to Live’s” Melissa Archer (Natalie Buchanan) will be appearing on the red carpet for the SoHo Film Festival screening of her new movie, “West End,” which also stars Eric Roberts (“The Dark Knight,” Oscar®-nominated and Golden Globe®-nominated “Runaway Train,”), Neal Bledsoe (“Smash”, “Gossip Girl,” “Ugly Betty”), Peter Onorati (“Goodfellas,” “American Dream”), “Excuse Me For Living”), Joe Nieves (“How I Met Your Mother,” “24”) and Isabella Hoffman (“Burlesque,” “Providence”).
