As it gears up to launch “All My Children” and “One Life to Live” on Monday, April 29, Hulu has created an exclusive Twitter account just for soap operas as well as a new Tumblr account to keep fans in the loop of all things Pine Valley and Llanview. The website has also posted videos on the various ways fans can utilize Hulu for the viewing pleasure with an entire portfolio of programming from ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, The CW, Nickelodeon, MTV and much more.
Gun shots, punches, returning sons and frightened daughters, “this is not some one way mirror looking at the world we’re in,” but it is “All My Children.”

More than three months have gone by since Prospect Park’s The OnLine Network made things official when it announced plans to resume production of “All My Children” and “One Life to Live.” On Friday, January 25, it was announced that Hulu, Hulu Plus and iTunes would carry both programs for an unheard of online only distribution in America. Unfortunately, Canadians seemed like they would be missing out on the action when the soaps premiered on Monday, April 29. Today, FX Canada announced it would be the only television channel in North America to broadcast both soaps.

Seeing David Canary, seeing Cady McClain, seeing Jill Larson, Debbi Morgan…it just made it all the more real,” says Ginger Smith, executive producer, “All My Children,” in the newly released “First Day of School” video by iTunes set to music by Raphael Lake/Ben Fisher with their song “Light It Up.” The EP and her cast members comment on the show returning to production nearly six weeks after it was first announced by Prospect Park’s The OnLine Network that the soap along with “One Life to Live” would be returning to the airwaves in more than one shape or form once again this spring (later revealed to be April 29, 2013 via Hulu, Hulu Plus and iTunes).
After 45 years on Australian television, The Nine Network has announced that on Friday, April 26 it will broadcast the American daytime soap opera “Days of our Lives” (currently in its 48th year of production) for the final time. In a statement released to TV Tonight, a representive for the network said, “We made a commercial decision not to renew ‘Days of our Lives,'” without revealing which program it will replace the drama series with.
On April 14, 2011, ABC sent shock-waves throughout the daytime industry when it announced it had decided to cancel “All My Children” and “One Life to Live.” Now two years to the day since that announcement, both soaps are in the process of not only returning to television but also to the world wide web courtesy of Prospect Park.
Shortly after news first broke that Roger Howarth, Kristen Alderson and Michael Easton would be returning to “General Hospital” as new characters, I tweeted, “Hearing Prospect Park won the character battle between it and ABC. More details on this matter forthcoming.” Those details are now ready to be revealed!
Titled “Brand New Start,” The OnLine Network has announced that Snoop Lion, aka Snoop Dogg, has agreed to write, produce and perform on the new theme song for the networks “One Life to Live,” which premieres with brand new episodes on Hulu, Hulu Plus and iTunes on Monday, April 29. In a statement TOLN says, “‘Brand New Start’ speaks to the much anticipated series return and features soulful singer, Iza Lach, newly signed to Snoop’s Berhane Sound System label, and Snoop Lion himself.”
On Wednesday, April 10, rapper Riff Raff taped scenes alongside “One Life to Live’s” Josh Kelly (Cutter Wentworth) for an upcoming appearance on the online version of the soap opera. According to The OnLine Network, Riff Raff will portray a character by the name of “Jamie Franko,” which sounds awfully similar in name to that of actor James Franco. Riff Raff has made claims that a character Franco portrays in the film “Spring Breakers” resembles that of himself, a claim which has denied by Franco. Riff Raff first airs on Tuesday, May 7.
Although a show spokesperson did not respond to a request for comment at press time, a representative for Lindsey Morgan has informed Soap Opera Network that the actress has already appeared in her last episodes of ABC’s “General Hospital.”
A CBS spokesperson has confirmed to Soap Opera Network that actress Jhoanna Flores has completed her run as Adriana Stone on “The Young and the Restless” with her last airdate being Tuesday, April 9. The actress joined the series on January 4 as the onscreen sister of Ignaccio Serricchio’s Alejandro “Alex” Chavez. The news was first reported by Daytime Confidential.
The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) announced on Thursday, April 11, that the 40th Annual Daytime Entertainment Creative Arts Emmy® Awards will be held on Friday, June 14, 2013 at the Westin Bonaventure in downtown, Los Angeles, CA. The Daytime Entertainment Creative Arts Emmy® Awards honors the numerous crafts behind the many shows that grace Daytime television. The awards itself, however, is not broadcast on television.
On Thursday, April 11, ABC’s “General Hospital” announced that former “One Life to Live” stars Kristen Alderson (ex-Starr Manning), Michael Easton (ex-John McBain) and Roger Howarth (ex-Todd Manning) would be returning to the soap after more than two months had gone by since they last appeared at the Prospect Studios, where “GH” is filmed. According to sources, the actors will be portraying new characters. Now two of the three stars have taken to their respective social networks to respond to fans who’ve been dying to hear their take on things.
As previously reported, tomorrow, April 12, The Paley Center for Media will present a panel discussion with the cast of ABC’s “General Hospital” in honor of the soaps 50th anniversary. Also scheduled to join in are executive producer Frank Valentini and head writer Ron Carlivati.
