Competing this year for the coveted trophy are Linsey Godfrey as Caroline Spencer on “The Bold and the Beautiful,” Amelia Heinle as Victoria Newman and Elizabeth Hendrickson as Chloe Mitchell, respectively, on “The Young and the Restless,” and Finola Hughes as Anna Devane and Lisa LoCicero as Olivia Falconeri on “General Hospital.”

Fans of “The Young and the Restless'” Amelia Heinle (Victoria Newman) and Sean Carrigan (Stitch Rayburn) will have the opportunity of taking part in a Meet & Greet and/or Q&A session with the daytime stars as the duo will be appearing at the Rising Star Casino Resort in Rising Sun, Indiana on Saturday, April 18. General admission tickets are just $10 for both the Meet & Greet and Q&A session.

If a year ago someone bet me that a modern-day soap opera would not only put their African-American characters in a front burner storyline that was deeply entrenched in social issues, which had nothing to do with the color of one’s skin, race or ethnicity, I’d owe that person plenty of money right about now.

The two were wed on Easter Sunday, April 5, in an intimate ceremony on the beach in San Pancho, Mexico, according to photos published on social media. The two got engaged last July.

It looks like Showtime’s revival of “Twin Peaks,” the cult drama series that aired on ABC from 1990 to 1991, might be in jeopardy after co-creator David Lynch announced this weekend that he has dropped out of the project as director, following tense contract negotiations with the network that were halted over disagreements on financial compensation.
After conducting interviews with several of today’s top talents and filing special assignment reports for the newsmagazine on multiple occassions over the past year, CBS Television Distributions’s “Entertainment Tonight” officially announced today the hiring of “All My Children” alum Cameron Mathison (ex-Ryan Lavery) as its new weekend co-anchor and a full-time correspondent. He will also serve as a fill-in anchor for the weekday telecast, hosted by Nancy O’Dell and Kevin Frazier.
When history is re-created to tell a new tale on a daytime soap opera some of us can’t help but groan at the mere thought, especially when history is mined by use of re-created flashback scenes. Sure, we love that stories continue day-to-day, but ultimately we don’t expect it to truly have much impact in today’s storied world. As “General Hospital” celebrated its 52nd anniversary earlier today, with re-created flashback scenes with several of its current cast playing yesterday’s important characters, one can’t help but be amazed at how far we’ve come in our quest for drama on screen, be it scripted or reality. The lack of shootouts, sex scenes, romantic triangles, catfights, or whatever passes for drama today, took a back seat to character driven story.
Nominees for the 42nd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards in select categories were announced earlier today on CBS’ “The Talk.” All in ABC’s “General Hospital” is leading the pack with 28 nominations. “The Young and the Restless” is right behind with 25 nominations followed by “The Bold and the Beautiful” with 19 noms and “Days of our Lives” with 16.

Just a short time ago, CBS’ “The Talk” announced the nominees for the “42nd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards,” which will air live on Sunday, April 26 on Pop. In total, CBS received 62 nominations in a variety of categories including Outstanding Drama Series for “The Bold and the Beautiful” and “The Young and the Restless,” Outstanding Lead, Supporting and Younger Actor for several of daytime biggest talents, along with nominations for Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show and Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show Hosts for “The Talk,” Outstanding Game Show for Let’s Make a Deal,” among a plethora of others.
In life you set goals for yourself, or at least you try to. You even have expectations for yourself that you hope will eventually get fulfilled. In my case, over the years I had set a specific list of goals that included certain expectations as they related to one another. Earlier this year, I officially crossed one of the major things off that list. It wasn’t easy as it had plagued me for nearly a decade. A stepping stone you might call it. I took up something many years ago that eventually became impossible to maintain on a full-time basis. I decided to do it part-time. I went from part-time to being very part-time. Later you could say I dropped it completely in order to concentrate on the things that either gave me personal joy and fulfillment (this site) or put several well earned dollars in my pocket. I imagine I’m not the only one out there who’s ever had pull some sort of double duty in their lifetime. Right?
