Just days before CBS’ “The Young and the Restless” is to begin honoring the life of beloved actor Kristoff St. John and his character, Neil Winters, comes word that American Express has decided to go after the actor’s estate over an alleged unpaid credit card bill.

According to The Blast, American Express National Bank has filed a creditor’s claim against the estate, claiming that the actor owed them $33,007.31 stemming from charges he made prior to his February 3 death. The paperwork was filed just over a week ago.

Further complicating matters of payment is word that St. John did not leave a will. As a result, the actor’s eldest daughter Paris had filed documents in March requesting she be named administrator. In her petition, Paris noted that her father’s net value was an estimated $122,000, which is the amount left after deductions. However, Kristoff’s father, Christopher, says that he is in possession of a handwritten will made by the actor which names him executor of the estate. Paris disputes its validity and is challenging it in court, claiming it was never meant to be discovered as the holographic will “was written inside a private diary and was not intended to be seen by third parties.” She’s now asking the court to appoint a neutral party to be in charge of her late father’s estate.

Beginning Tuesday, April 23, “The Young and the Restless” starts airing a four-episode story arc in which friends, family and colleagues learn of the passing of Neil Winters. On Monday, April 29, “Y&R” will put a pin in its storylines in order to present a tribute special for the actor. Appearing in the tribute include several of St. John’s current and former co-stars, including Victoria Rowell (ex-Drucilla Winters), Mishael Morgan (ex-Hilary Curtis Winters), Julia Pace Mitchell (Sofia Dupre), Angell Conwell (Leslie Michaelson) and Shemar Moore (Malcolm Winters).

Moore will appear in the Thursday, April 25 and Friday, April 26 episodes as Neil’s brother, Malcolm. Mitchell will also appear in both episodes as her character Sofia, Neil’s ex-wife, while Conwell appears in just the 4/25 episode as Leslie.

Both Moore and Rowell, along with Bryton James (Devon Hamilton) and Christel Khalil (Lily Winters Ashby), will appear in the Friday, April 26 airing of “The Talk” as they share memories of their time working alongside St. John and provide classic clips of the actor’s more than 28 years on “Y&R.”
