ABC is reportedly in early discussions with Carsey-Werner Television about a second reboot of “Roseanne,” this time without series star and co-creator Roseanne Barr.

According to TMZ, Sara Gilbert (“The Talk”), who played Darlene Conner on the original, and was the one behind the discussion of a first reboot, has been reaching out to members of the cast in order to “gauge their interest in the event ABC gives the reboot the green light.” The publication notes that John Goodman (who plays Dan Conner) is “very interested.”

Despite making a swift decision to cancel the series on Tuesday after it finished as the highest rated entertainment program on television during the 2017-18 television season, ABC is said to be hoping to salvage the hundreds of jobs lost when it announced the show would no longer be part of its fall schedule as a result of Barr’s saying former adviser to President Obama, Valerie Jarrett, is the result if the “muslim brotherhood  & planet of the apes had a baby.”

The racially charged tweet was universally condemned on social media with many in Hollywood calling for Barr to be fired. Despite apologizing, Barr continued posting a barrage of tweets since the cancellation asking for forgiveness, giving forgiveness, and even blaming the drug Ambien for why she said what she said. Many of the tweets have since been deleted.

Below is one of Barr’s most recent tweets in which she again apologized for what has happened.
