While announcing additional presenters for “The 42nd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards,” The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) and Pop continued to tease that the awards will feature the most notable TV moments and characters voted on by fans, including Most Romantic Duo, Favorite Daytime Hottie, Favorite Talk Show Audience, Favorite OMG! Moment and Favorite Game Show Moment. But it’s the mention of a reunion of two soap star legends, coupled with an item by ABC Soaps In Depth on Twitter about a “HUGE, very exciting announcement” that has our full undivided attention.
While speculation has it that we might be seeing a reunion of Genie Francis and Anthony Geary as the likely legendary pair, despite the two remaining on “General Hospital” as Luke and Laura Spencer over the years, it’s anyone’s guess who they might be referring to.
As for the Soaps In Depth item, the magazine tweeted: “So ready for a sort of blind-item that takes a bit of explaining? Okay, here we go…So a CBS source tells us that at the Emmys, there’s going to be a HUGE, very exciting announcement made. But here’s the twist…The announcement that will be made at the Emmys is NOT about a CBS show, despite it being a CBS source sharing this tidbit.
