GH Buzz: Sebastian Roche Returning to Soap?

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — Usually when there is a hot rumor going around the web, we ask around to see if there is any legs to the story and in the case of Sebastian Roche, the legs are growing. Over the past couple of days, message boards have been abuzz with word that Sebastian Roche is returning to ABC's "General Hospital," and now Soap Opera Network has learned that that is definitely a possibility, but he may not be Jerry Jacks this time around.

According to sources, Roche is expected to return to "General Hospital" in the coming months as either his character Jerry Jacks or perhaps "The Balkan," the mystery Russian crime lord who is after Brenda Barrett (Vanessa Marcil Giovinazzo). Incidentally, Soap Opera Digest reported back in August that "GH" was looking to cast the role described as a forty to sixty year old, "ruthless, intense and unmistakable presence," who will be heavily recurring for approximately six months starting in Mid-November. In one scenario given to us, it is said that the character might even turn out to be Jerry Jacks after all. This twist would follow in line with Roche's debut on the soap back in 2007 when he portrayed terrorist James Craig, only to be revealed to be a recast Jerry Jacks two months later. Jerry was last seen in 2009 after he faked his death in order to find Michael Corinthos III (then played by actor Drew Garrett), who Claudia (Sarah Brown) learned was the cause of her miscarriage.

Roche is set to appear on The CW's "Supernatural" in the role of Balthazar, an angel, according to showrunner Sera Gamble. "He provides a unique perspective on what is going on in Castiel's (Misha Collins) world. Balthazar is doing things we've never seen an angel doing before." The episode is set to air during the series sixth season, which premiere's tomorrow, September 24 on The CW.

In addition to "Supernatural," look for Roche to return to FOX's "Fringe" in the role of Thomas Jerome Newton, a mysterious humanoid soldier from another universe.
