CBS’ “The Talk” announced today nominations for “The 43rd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards,” which is scheduled to take place on Sunday, May 1. On Monday, May 2, the daytime show will host its fifth annual “After Party” with scheduled guests to be announced early Monday morning, May 2.

Get ready for a soap opera showdown. Stars from “The Young and the Restless” and “The Bold and the Beautiful” are competing against one another in CBS’ Soap Mayhem Basketball Tournament on Thursday, March 10. Part of March Madness 2016, the event will stream live on the CBS Facebook page at 11:30 am ET/8:30 am PT.

Actress Angell Conwell is returning to CBS’ “The Young and the Restless” next month as Leslie Michaelson, reports Soap Opera Digest. According to the publication, Conwell’s character is being called to Genoa City to help someone in need of her legal expertise on the Monday, March 14 episode of the soap.

As we get closer to daytime’s biggest night, taking place on Sunday, May 1, the industry is abuzz today over which actors were submitted for a pre-nomination for the “The 43rd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards,” presented by The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS). With at least two actors per show for each category (exception being Supporting Actress) several of daytime television’s biggest and brightest stars are looking to vie for the coveted trophy that celebrates their hard work during calendar year 2015.

On today’s episode of CBS’ “The Young and the Restless,” Christine Blair (Lauralee Bell) admitted to friend Lauren Fenmore (Tracey E. Bregman) that she’s looking forward to a bright future ahead for her and her husband, Paul Williams (Doug Davidson), which includes the possibility of her having a baby with Genoa City’s top cop. “It used to be all about my career, getting ahead and proving myself, but once I married Paul, things changed. I want us to create something together. A testament to our love… I just hope it’s not too late!”

As previously reported, Burgess Jenkins takes over the role of Billy Abbott on CBS’ “The Young and the Restless” later this month. Last night on our social media platforms (Facebook and Twitter), we noted that the actor’s first airdate is scheduled for Tuesday, June 24. Jenkins began filming scenes last week. The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) is set to formally announce a list of individuals scheduled to attend as presenters for the 41st Annual Daytime Creative Arts Emmy® Awards later today, Soap Opera Network has learned. The list includes several of daytime’s biggest and brightest stars, past and present, and a number of behind the scenes talents from “All My Children,” “The Bold and the Beautiful,” “Days of our Lives,” “General Hospital,” “One Life to Live” and “The Young and the Restless,” among other forms of daytime programming.

Another day, another drama. At least, that seems to be the case for “The Young and the Restless’” Paul Williams (Doug Davidson), who is juggling so many Genoa City cases as Chief of Police, it’s tough to keep all of the details straight! Soap Opera Network has learned that actor Robert Craighead is returning to CBS’ “The Young and the Restless” next month as Judge Wayne in scenes with Christian LeBlanc (Michael Baldwin), Tracey E. Bregman (Lauren Fenmore), Lauralee Bell (Christine ) and Max Ehrich (Fenmore Baldwin).

CBS’ “The Young and the Restless” is in a celebratory mood today as the soap is enjoying 25 consecutive years as daytime television’s most watched drama series. As part of its continued success, the soap is also enjoying its best season average in total viewers since the 2011-2012 television season. To show their appreciation to fans for their support, cast and crew took the time to pose with a banner that states: “The Young and the Restless: #1 For 25 Years.” To honor this feet, Soap Opera Network has gathered all the images published on social media for your one stop viewing pleasure.

“The Young and the Restless” brought the soap opera community to tears this past May with an emotional and very well planned memorial for the late Jeanne Cooper (Katherine Chancellor), who passed away due to an illness that same month. And now the sudser is pulling out all of the stops yet again to honor the character Cooper played for 40 years. The emotional storyline has already begun playing out with several of Genoa City’s residents receiving letters from the grand dame, and Doug Davidson (Paul Williams) says this is just the start of a powerful story arc that will change the small Wisconsin town in more ways than one.

As previously reported, CBS’ “The Young and the Restless” will honor the life of Katherine Chancellor on Tuesday, September 3 and Wednesday, September 4, when the soap opera pays tribute to the character and her portrayer, Jeanne Cooper, in a two-part memorial service. Per a website dedicated to the character, Katherine died on Thursday, August 1 after a short illness. Cooper died on Wednesday, May 8, also from a brief illness. Fan favorites Lauralee Bell (Christine), Tricia Cast (Nina Webster), Beau Kazer (Brock Reynolds), Adrienne Frantz (Amber Moore), Patty Weaver (Gina Roma) and Michael Damian (Danny Romalotti) will return for the service along with Cooper’s real-life son, Corbin Bernsen, who will reprise his role as Father Todd who presides over Katherine’s service. Damian will perform “That’s When I’ll Stop Loving You,” the song that aired in the tribute episode dedicated to Cooper in May.

As previously reported, cast members from CBS’ “The Young and the Restless” appeared on yesterday’s edition of “Marie.” In honor of the soaps 40th anniversary, the Marie Osmond hosted talker paid tribute to the memory of “Y&R” co-creator and head writer, William J. Bell, and highlighted the longest-running feud in daytime soap history – Katherine Chancellor (Jeanne Cooper) and Jill Foster Abbott (Jess Walton).
