Browsing: Kate Mansi

With reports that she has opted to leave NBC’s “Days of our Lives” leaking months before she last appears on screen, actress Kate Mansi has taken to social media to explain her decision for leaving the daytime drama series and promises there’s plenty of drama to see as her time as Abigail Deveraux comes to a close.

After months of rumors surrounding the possibility of a contract player telling producers of their soap they had no plans of renewing their contract when it came up for renewal, despite major plans by the show for their front-burner storyline, word has it that actress Kate Mansi is on her way out as Abigail Deveraux on NBC’s “Days of our Lives.”

Actor Matthew Ashford is heading back to the set of NBC’s “Days of our Lives” this week, more than three years since his character, Jack Deveraux, perished after saving his daughter, Abigail (Kate Mansi), from a devastating elevator crash during the much hyped August 2012 DAYSaster.

With anticipation of returning characters, historic moments, and happy memories upon us as “Days of our Lives” celebrates its 50th anniversary later this fall, the daytime drama series is set to release a new photo book titled “Days of our Lives: 50 Years,” which was pieced together by co-executive producer Greg Meng. As part of the release, a multi-city promotional tour has been scheduled.

Sharing sex scenes with some of the hottest men in daytime must be a tough gig, but someone’s got to do it. And (un)lucky for the rest of us, “Days of our Lives’” Kate Mansi (Abigail Deveraux) is the actress who’s been called upon for the gig. First she got Chad (then played by Casey Deidrick, now played by Billy Flynn), then she got EJ (James Scott), and now she’s got Ben (Robert Scott Wilson). But where has this bad boy bonanza left her burgeoning alter ego? Soap Opera Network spoke with Mansi to find out!

“It’s impossible to forget Samantha Brady!” declared Caroline (Peggy McCay) on yesterday’s episode of “Days of our Lives,” exactly mirroring the thoughts that many of the sudser’s fans have had on their minds leading up to star Alison Sweeney’s last episode today. Many tears have been shed (both onscreen and off), but was the character’s exit really movie magic? Or would a completely different ending been the way to go?

On Thursday, October 30, fans of NBC’s “Days of our Lives” will be saying goodbye to Alison Sweeney and Samantha ‘Sami’ Brady after more than 21 years. As she gets ready to wrap her two-decade long stint on the daytime drama series, Sweeney shares some of her favorite memories from the beginning to the end, including what it was like finding out she was cast as Deidre Hall‘s TV daughter, some of Sami’s most memorable romances, and much more.

“Days of our Lives’” fans have had 32 years of dark DiMera family amusement through Stefano (Joe Mascolo) and later the addition of EJ (James Scott), but it looks like the newest family member will be giving his predecessors a run for their money! Billy Flynn debuted as the new darker and vengeful Chad this month, and it’s been quite obvious that the apple has definitely not fallen far from the tree. But just what can fans expect from the character as he continues to ingratiate himself back into Salem? Soap Opera Network spoke with his new portrayer to find out!

Nothing stirs up controversy quite like the tumultuous relationship between “Days of our Lives’” Sami (Alison Sweeney) and EJ (James Scott). And as the characters’ time in Salem draws near to an end, their complicated connection appears to be nothing short of the exhilarating emotional journey its been since the couple first met in 2006. The latest jaw-dropping twist: The estranged pair hit the sheets for a steamy sex session!

As previously reported, cast members of NBC’s “Days of our Lives” will once again take part in a special “Day of DAYS” fan event scheduled to take place on Saturday, November 8 at Universal CityWalk in Hollywood. This year the celebration takes place on the actual 49th anniversary of the daytime drama series, making it all the more special for fans looking to see their favorite Salemites in person. As always, the event is free and will begin at 10:00 AM with a “Day of DAYS” welcome party with cast introductions, followed by autograph signings, a cast Q&A session, photo booth fun for fans and much more.  The day will culminate with a preview of an upcoming episode of the drama series immediately following the cast Q&A.

“Days of our Lives” debuted the new Chad DiMera on Friday, September 12 with Billy Flynn in the shoes of EJ’s (James Scott) little brother, and the character hit the canvas with an almost literal bang!

Fall may be fast approaching, but there’s no need to worry about getting cold: “Days of our Lives” is keeping it hot with an exciting story involving new resident Ben Rogers! Soap Opera Network caught up with the character’s portrayer, Robert Scott Wilson, to get the scoop on what’s to come for his alter ego in the weeks ahead. You better hold on tight, because it’s going to be a wild ride!

Whoever predicted “Days of our Lives'” Abigail Deveraux (Kate Mansi) would grow up to become Samantha Brady’s (Alison Sweeney) rival over a man, or just about anything, might be one rich person today if they made a bet with a millionaire. In a promo highlighting next week’s episodes, Sami has had enough of Abby, but will she be the one forced to play nice?

If you’ve been tuning into NBC’s “Days of our Lives” recently and were wondering what exactly Will Horton (Guy Wilson) wrote in great detail about the affair between Abbigail Deveraux (Kate Mansi) and EJ DiMera (James Scott), NBC.com has you covered. The official website for the daytime drama series published the full fictional TruVista Magazine article on Wednesday, August 20, which also includes details not revealed on air.
