“Days of our Lives'” premiered November 8, 1965 on NBC.
The series currently airs exclusively on Peacock, with all-new episodes released weekday mornings at 6:00 a.m. ET.
Today marks the end of a four-year chapter for “Days of our Lives” fan favorite Casey Deidrick (Chad DiMera), who entered Salem as Will’s (Chandler Massey’s) hated rival back in 2009 and is now exiting the canvas as a much-loved and integral character, son of Stefano (Joseph Mascolo). In honor of the occasion, Soap Opera Network spoke with Deidrick’s onscreen love, Kate Mansi (Abigail), who tearfully recalls taping her final scene with Deidrick and opens up about how she truly feels about the star’s exit!
Hold onto your hats, because one hunky soap star is headed to “Days of our Lives’” Salem: former “As The World Turns” star Mark Collier (ex-Mike)!
Deep down in the basement of NBC’s The Burbank Studios in Los Angeles, beneath the busy and hectic world of “Days of our Lives’” Salem, lies a cozy dressing room that offers a warm and comfortable respite from cameras, producers, directors, publicists, wardrobe and all of the other distractions of a daytime television set. The lighting is low, candles flicker, and there’s a plush, body hugging beanbag that just begs any visitor to sit back, sink in and possibly take one of the best naps of all time. We at Soap Opera Network could have fallen into the beckoning trap, but the dressing room’s owner, Shawn Christian (Daniel Jonas), was way too excited to discuss his current storyline and his new television project, “Addicts Anonymous,” to allow any snoozing to happen. And as soon as the passionate actor launched into conversation, there was no desire for napping on our part, either! Read on for the exciting details Christian shared. But be warned: You’ll be on the edge of your seats (or, if you’re lucky, your beanbags).

For all intents and purposes, “Days of our Lives” Galen Gering (Rafe Hernandez) has had one of the best gigs in Los Angeles as of late. Not only was he getting paid to hang out in a bed all day while his alter ego was in a coma, he’s had the recent fortune of playing the recovery part of the story, which is a physical challenge that rarely falls into an actor’s lap. The result: Some standout scenes of Rafe re-learning to walk that prove Gering has some acting legs to stand on!
According to Soap Opera Digest, NBC’s “Days of our Lives” is welcoming back veteran actor Drake Hogestyn (John Black) to its canvas after nearly a 7-month absence. Hogestyn last appeared on screen in mid-July based on scenes filmed in mid-March.

It’s incontrovertible that “Days of our Lives” James Scott (EJ DiMera) is drop dead gorgeous. He has an impressive 6-foot-something stature, model good looks, a smooth British accent, perfectly polished style and… scrapes all over his hands. (Record scratch.) Yes, when the English native recently sat down with Soap Opera Network for an exclusive interview, he had numerous red scratches marring his otherwise perfect digits. And suddenly, he was all the sexier. Especially when he quipped of the wounds: “Oh, I did a love scene with Alison [Sweeney, Sami] yesterday.”

Former daytime actor Kyle Lowder (ex-Rick Forrester, “The Bold and the Beautiful;” ex-Brady Black, “Days of our Lives”) is shedding the super-tight 80s leather pants and sexy, shaggy long hair he’s been sporting for the Las Vegas production of Rock of Ages and trading them in for a — wait for it — coat! That’s right, folks: The actor is walking away from the 80s rock show in which he portrayed rockstar Stacee Jaxx to play the title lead in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s famous musical, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

Yesterday marked the first day that “All My Children’s” Rebecca Budig (ex-Greenlee Smythe) served as the co-host of “The Better Show,” a syndicated talk show that just begun its seventh season. And while her debut was certainly exciting, things are just on the verge of heating up!
