A veteran of daytime soaps, actress Alla Korot (ex-Allie Doyle, “All My Children”; ex-Jenna Norris, ” Another World”) is heading to “General Hospital,” confirms an ABC representative. Character details and when she’ll first air were not made available, however.

From crime lord to crime drama. “General Hospital’s” Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos) is guest-starring on ABC’s “Castle.” The actor will appear in the 19th episode of Season 8 of the ABC drama, which looks to be airing in April, with Jonathan Silverman.

Best known for roles on “All My Children” and “Another World,” actress Alla Korot is set to begin filming at NBC’s “Days of our Lives” next month in the newly created role of Janet Bernard, Korot announced on her Twitter page over the weekend. A first airdate is not yet known but fans can expect for the actress to hit the screen sometime in June.

“The Young and the Restless” has cast “Home and Away” alum Lachlan Buchanan in the contract role of Kyle Jenkins, the son of Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Diane Jenkins (last played by “General Hospital’s” Maura West). The actor will report to work at the CBS Television City studio, where “Y&R” is filmed, beginning Tuesday, January 27. His first airdate is set for Wednesday, February 25.

DIRECTV and The Walt Disney Company gave subscribers of the top satellite provider an early Christmas present with word that the two companies have reached a new multi-year deal that’ll provide high quality entertainment to millions of viewers via DIRECTV Everywhere and Authenticated WATCH Services. The deal with DIRECTV concludes Disney’s negotiations with the top ten pay-TV providers.

Before becoming Thor for millions of fans in the “Thor” film series or “The Avengers” cinematic universe, actor Chris Hemsworth was probably best known for his role on the Australian soap “Home and Away,” where he played Kimberly Jonathan “Kim” Hyde. Now a major movie star, Hemsworth has graced the cover of People Magazine as its “Sexiest Man Alive!” He’s not the only one though as several of daytime’s biggest and brightest stars of today and yesterday have also made the annual list of sexy men, which hits newsstands today.

Former “Days of our Lives” siren Krista Allen (ex-Billie Reed) has had quite an impressive run since departing Salem in 1999 with roles on shows like “Mistresses,” “Baywatch,” “Hawaii Five-0” and “Melissa & Joey,” but her latest gig puts her back in the soap orbit — at least partially: She’ll be featured in an upcoming episode of ABC’s “Castle,” which stars former “One Life to Live” actor, Nathan Fillion (ex-Joey Buchanan)!

If you’re a fan of “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Once Upon a Time,” “Castle,” “Modern Family,” “The Middle,” “The Goldbergs” or “Black-ish” you’re in luck: ABC has extended the episode orders for each of the 7 series beyond the typical 22 episodes. Unfortunately, if you got yourself entwined in “Manhattan Love Story” you’re in for a big disappointment: ABC has canceled the series after just three airings.

Hot on the heels of Fox and NBC’s release of their fall 2014-2015 primetime schedules comes the reveal of ABC’s fall schedule, which includes several new series (which you can read more about here).

ABC has renewed dramas “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” “Castle,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Once Upon a Time,” “Resurrection,” “Revenge” and “Scandal,” while also picking up comedies “The Goldbergs,” “The Middle,” and “Modern Family” for the 2014-2015 television season. The network has yet to decide the fates of drama “Nashville” and comedy “Last Man Standing,” although the likelihood of both series returning remains strong.

ABC’s ‘Castle’ may have had a small production bump due to a reported dispute with star Nathan Fillion (ex-Joey Buchanan, “One Life to Live”), but that hasn’t stopped the casting department from moving forward. And the latest actor they’ve put to work comes from Llanview, too: Yancey Arias (Emilio Gonzales)!
