On Thursday, August 2, “The Young and the Restless” star Jeanne Cooper (Katherine Chancellor) will be appearing at the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota to sign copies of her new book “Not Young, Still Restless: A Memoir.”
As Soap Opera Network first reported earlier today, NBC.com has revealed some of the actors taking part in various aspects of communication with fans of “Days of our Lives” so as to tide them over while NBC airs its coverage of the Olympic Games. The interactions begins Monday, July 30 and last through Friday, August 10 at 2:00 PM ET.
Eric Braeden is best known to daytime fans of CBS’ “The Young and the Restless” as Victor Newman and in celebration of the shows upcoming 10,000th episode (tentatively scheduled for Thursday, September 27), the actor appeared on today’s edition of “The Talk,” with guest co-host Shannen Doherty.
As “The Young and the Restless” gears up for its 10,000th episode tentatively scheduled to air on Thursday, September 27 on CBS, The Paley Center for Media, LA will be hosting a live event on Thursday, August 23 beginning at 7:00 PM PT with much of the veteran cast members of the popular daytime drama series including Peter Bergman (Jack Abbott), Eric Braeden (Victor Abbott), Jeanne Cooper (Katherine Chancellor), Doug Davidson (Paul Williams), Christian LeBlanc (Michael Baldwin), Joshua Morrow (Nicholas Newman), Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki Newman), Kristoff St. John (Neil Winters), and Michelle Stafford (Phyllis Newman) scheduled to attend.
In a posting on her facebook page yesterday, following the announcement by Sony Pictures Television and CBS that Jill Farren Phelps and Josh Griffith, Jr. would be stepping in to replace her, Maria Arena Bell stated that she was “mystified” as to why she was being let go as executive producer and head writer of “The Young and the Restless.”
“General Hospital’s” Kelly Monaco (Sam McCall) is returning to ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars.” Monaco was the first winner of the infamous mirror ball trophy and helped launch the competition series into the hit it became. She joins fellow former “Dancing” stars as Kirstie Alley, Shawn Johnson, Drew Lachey, Apolo Anton Ohno, Emmitt Smith, Joey Fatone, Pamela Anderson, Helio Castroneves, Melissa Rycroft, Gilles Marini, and Bristol Palin.
Actress Jen Lilley, who was given the ultimate acting challenge when she replaced Kirsten Storms in the role of Maxie Jones on ABC’s “General Hospital” in September 2011 now finds herself relinquishing the role back to Storms as the show prepares a time slot change in the coming weeks.
Former “General Hospital” and “General Hospital: Night Shift” star Graham Shiels (ex-Cody Paul) will appear on the Sunday, July 22 episode of TNT’s “Leverage.”

TVLine is reporting that ABC’s “General Hospital” has recast the role of Kristina Davis with daytime newcomer Lindsey Morgan. She replaces Lexi Ainsworth, who exited the soap in October as the character was sent to Yale University. According to a show representative, upon Kristina’s return to the canvas, the daytime drama plans to take the character into a different direction.
According to TV Guide’s Michael Logan, CBS’ “The Bold and the Beautiful” is bringing Sean Kanan back into the fold as the soap plans to reintegrate Deacon Sharpe onto the canvas beginning next month. Since 2009, the character had been living it up on network sibling “The Young and the Restless” as part of a connection he built with Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) in Genoa City.

As Soap Opera Network first reported on March 16, Deadline’s Nellie Andreeva is reporting that ABC has officially canceled “The Revolution” and plans to slide “General Hospital” into the 2:00 PM ET/1:00 PM PT timeslot beginning Monday, September 10, the same day the network hands over the 3:00 PM ET/2:00 PM PT time period to affiliates. The news was later reported by The New York Times.
The news of changes hitting NBC’s “Days of our Lives” keeps on rolling tonight as one of the soaps outgoing stars, Matthew Ashford (soon-to-be ex-Jack Deveraux), posted a heartfelt message to his fans on his Facebook page just a short time ago in response to the news of his pending departure:
“The Real Housewives of Orange County” star Alexis Bellino tweeted earlier this evening that she had been brought in for a cameo appearance on ABC’s “General Hospital.”
Although Soap Opera Digest has since “confirmed” their story on the ouster of several “Days of our Lives” stars with a show representative, according to its website, one actress appears to not have been told as the magazine stated. In fact, it looks like if the firings do hold, actress Sarah Brown (Madison James) has not been told by her bossess of any change to her status with the NBC daytime soap.
In an interview posted earlier today by TV Guide’s Michael Logan, it looked like Co-Executive Producer Greg Meng was alluding to the possible ouster of actress Sarah Brown when he stated “we also brought in the wonderful Sarah Brown [Madison James] and threw her into a lot of material very quickly. Maybe too much too quickly.” Sadly, it looks like he was indeed commenting on Brown’s character on the show in past tense.
