Born in Brooklyn, NY, Errol Lewis began watching soap operas in 1993 around the time Luke and Laura Spencer (Anthony Geary and Genie Francis) returned to “General Hospital,” but they weren’t what got him watching on a regular basis. “It was Lucy Coe [Lynn Herring] and her duck Sigmond,” he says of how he got started with soaps. “The adventures of Kevin [Jon Lindstrom] and Lucy, and Mac [John J. York] and Felicia [Kristina Wagner] was thrilling drama for me which was not something your typical nine-year-old boy could say about his viewing habits at the time.” Mr. Lewis would soon begin watching all of the soaps including the since departed “All My Children,” “As The World Turns,” “Guiding Light,” “One Life to Live, “Passions,” “Port Charles” and “Sunset Beach. The four soap operas remaining on the air includes “The Bold and the Beautiful,” “Days of our Lives,” “General Hospital,” and “The Young and the Restless.” Splitting his time maintaining the day-to-day functionality of Soap Opera Network, Mr. Lewis is the Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of the website which became a .com service in November 2002. He assumed administrative oversight of the website in early 2003.

On Tuesday, February 26, just one day after resuming production on “All My Children” after more than a year a half since ending its ABC run, the cast of the soap got together on set to perform “The Harlem Shake” for the TOLN Extras YouTube channel, where fans can get up close and personal with their favorite TOLN stars. Earlier today TOLN released the performance of “Harlem Shake,” while also announcing that soap fans will soon learn THIS WEEK when “AMC” will premiere on Hulu, Hulu Plus, and iTunes. Previously, the network only noted that “AMC” and sister soap “One Life to Live” would premiere this spring.

Michael Easton (John McBain) posted an update for fans wanting to know where he currently stands in the dispute between ABC’s “General Hospital” and TOLN’s “One Life to Live.” In a Facebook message, the actor said, “THANK YOU…your kind words of support mean the world to me. No word yet on when we might return to work but the fridge is stocked, the bills are paid, and I get to spend lots of precious time with my little girl.”

According to Robin Strasser (Dorian Lord) via her fan hotline (212-414-5300), “One Life to Live” will now begin filming new episodes for Hulu, Hulu Plus and iTunes on Monday, March 18. Previously, the series was scheduled to commence filming on Monday, March 11. The actress brought the news to light despite being unwell at the time. Early this morning Strasser tweeted, “What a difference a week makes when you’re feeling weak (lol) not sick of word play-just saying.”

Brittany Underwood, who starred as Langston Wilde on ABC’s “One Life to Live” and Loren Tate on Nick @ Nite’s “Hollywood Heights,” recently released her music video for the song “Flow,” which was shot and directed by Robert Adamson, who co-starred with Underwood on “Heights” as Phil Sanders and is now appearing on CBS’ “The Young and the Restless” as Noah Newman. In the newest issue of ABC Soaps In Depth, “General Hospital” star Julie Marie Berman has announced in an exclusive interview that she is leaving the series after seven and a half years portraying Lulu Spencer. “I always have a desire to grow and challenge myself in other mediums. And there are enough reasons now that my gut is telling me this is the right time to finally let go of ‘GH.'” Berman says she informed her bosses back in July of last year that she had plans to leave the series. “I gave my notice in July to leave when my contract was up in November last year,” said Berman, who also explained that she decided to stay a little while longer after subsequent discussions between her management team and “GH” executive producer Frank Valentini.
