The fifth season of “Cobra Kai” on Netflix launches Friday, September 9 and it will include “The Bold and the Beautiful” star Sean Kanan who reprises his role as Mike Barns, a role he originated in “The Karate Kid Part III” which was released in 1989.
“So excited to FINALLY announce that Mike Barnes will be a part of season 5!” wrote Kanan on Twitter following the announcement first reported by Deadline. He added, “@healdrules @jonhurwitz & @McSchlossberg wrote me an awesome story. Can’t wait for you all to see it!”
In addition to his starring role as Deacon Sharpe on “The Bold and the Beautiful,” and his upcoming return as Mike Barnes in “Cobra Kai,” Kanan can also be seen in “Studio City” which recently released its second season on Amazon earlier this year.
