For the week of January 19-23, ABC’s “The View” beat CBS’ competing “The Talk” in Total Viewers (2,881,000 vs. 2,788,000), Women 18-49 (445,000 vs. 438,000) and Women 25-54 (626,000 vs. 624,000). The daytime talk show was up across the board week-to-week to post 5 week highs in viewers and Women 25-54.
It was during the week of January 5-9 that CBS touted its beating “The View” in viewers for the first time ever. As they did last week, both talkers tied in the sales demos with a 0.7 Women 18-49 rating and a 1.0 Women 25-54 rating.
“The View” posted week to week improvement (2.808 million, 423,000 and 615,000, respectively, for w/o 1/12/15) across the board: Total Viewers (+3%),Women 25-54 (+2%) and Women 18-49 (+5%). Further, “The View” turned in its strongest performance in Total Viewers and Women 25-54 in 5 weeks – since w/o 12/15/14.
Season to date, “The View” is outperforming CBS’ “The Talk” in all key demos:Total Viewers (+241,000), Women 25-54 (+41,000) and Women 18-49(+50,000). In fact, “The View” has increased its season lead over “The Talk” in Total Viewers (+6% – 241,000 vs. 227,000) compared to the same point last season.
