CBS will once again preempt its daytime lineup, particularly on the West Coast, over four non-consecutive days for live coverage of “UEFA Champions League” games beginning Tuesday, April 5 and Wednesday, April 6; and again on Tuesday, April 12 and Wednesday, April 13. The preemptions will primarily impact the West Coast airings of “The Young and the Restless” and “The Bold and the Beautiful” while “Let’s Make a Deal” will be impacted in markets where it is regularly scheduled to air after “The Talk.” The daytime talk show will not broadcast on either coast on the aforementioned dates as it is preempted nationally. Only “The Price is Right” will air uninterrupted.

The games will begin at 3:00 p.m. ET on CBS and via streaming service Paramount+ with each showing different teams playing in the competition. A pre-game show, “UEFA Champions League Today,” will air at 2:00 p.m. ET in place of “The Talk” which will be fully preempted.

Viewers living in markets impacted by the preemptions can keep up with the latest episodes which will be made available on the CBS App, CBS.com, and Paramount+, or check local listings for overnight airings.

Ratings for the games thus far have proven to be unspectacular for CBS with the first four games attracting less than one million viewers on either day, a far cry from the average watching CBS’ regularly scheduled programming.

What follows is a list of dates CBS daytime programming will be preempted or aired overnight in the Mountain and Pacific markets (check local listings).

  • Tuesday, April 5 – Manchester vs Atlético Madrid
  • Wednesday, April 6 – Chelsea vs Real Madrid
  • Tuesday, April 12 – TBA
  • Wednesday, April 13 – TBA

“UEFA Champions League” is an annual competition organized by the Union of European Football Associations as the remaining top 16 clubs in the European tournament each vie for the Coupe des Clubs Champions Européens (aka European Cup) trophy.
