While details are scarce beyond what he posted on Instagram, “Days of our Lives” star Brandon Barash (Jake DiMera) recently revealed he had been diagnosed with COVID-19 and has since recovered.

He posted, “I don’t always have Covid19, but when I beat it, I drink Springbank 18. Stay healthy my friends.” He ended the post with the hashtag “f#%$covid19” and used the “tumbler glass” emoji alongside a picture of himself holding WhiskeyFest 2017 glass.

In the comments, Barash’s co-stars, including Martha Madison (Belle Black), Eric Martsolf (Brady Black) and Robert Scott Wilson (Ben Weston), among others, wished him well following his recovery.

“So glad to hear you’re feeling better,” said Madison. “Cheers to your health,” noted Martsolf. “He’s back! See you tonight my guy,” asserted Wilson. Writer Michele Val Jean (“The Bold and the Beautiful,” “General Hospital”) stated, “Oh no! Glad you’re better.” She used the hashtag “f#%$covidindeed.”

Even Richard Marx chimed in. The pop rock singer and songwriter who has sold more than 30 million albums worldwide, led by such hits as “Don’t Mean Nothing,” “Should’ve Known Better,” “Endless Summer Nights” and “Hold on to the Nights,” among a multitude of others, commented, “Hair is good though bro.”

Prior to Barash’s post about his COVID-19 status, the actor last posted on social media on October 22 — a picture of himself and his daughter, Harper, enjoying their time at what appears to be a visit to Lego Land.

On October 16, Barash joined his fellow Port Chuck bandmates — “General Hospital” stars Bradford Anderson (Damian Spinelli), Scott Reeves (ex-Steve Webber; ex-Ryan McNeil, “The Young and the Restless”) and Steve Burton (Jason Morgan) — for an online concert, dubbed “Port Chuck ‘Steve’s Choice!’” The performance is exclusively available for viewing on Patreon to paying subscribers of Stone Cold and the Jackal.

In a post on Twitter on March 18, 2020, Barash said, “Covid-19 has made me realize one thing. Social distancing is my love language.”
