An Asymptomatic Steve Burton Reveals Positive COVID-19 Test Result, Forced to Postpone ‘Stone Cold and the Jackal’ Shows

An asymptomatic Steve Burton recently revealed he was exposed to COVID-19 at work, and after an initial negative test result, a second test showed he tested positive.

On Instagram, “General Hospital” star Steve Burton (Jason Morgan) announced that he was recently exposed to COVID-19 at work. Initially receiving a negative test result, the actor opted to take another test before traveling on a plane to the North East for this weekend’s now postponed “Stone Cold and the Jackal” shows that he was to take part in alongside “GH” co-star Bradford Anderson (Damian Spinelli).

“Long story short, I was exposed at work. I tested Wednesday [and] I tested negative, and then I wanted to take another test before I got on an airplane to be safe to come out and see you guys and then I tested positive,” Burton stated. He further stated for those concerned, “I feel fine, I have no symptoms, other than being really bummed that we can’t see you guys, so, thank you for your patience.”

Instead of canceling the shows altogether, fans who had already purchased tickets will have their tickets honored for the newly released dates expected to be announced sometime next week.

“We are working actively to secure another date (week) for the tour but we ask that you kindly bear with us as we navigate a very difficult situation,” read the text on Burton’s Instagram video announcement. “Once new dates are announced, you’ll be notified by email. We are sorry for any inconvenience. Thank you for your patience.. we love you!”

Burton did not issue a comment on how his testing positive for COVID-19 could impact his film schedule at “GH.”
