It was just this past Monday, July 26 when Peacock, the streaming service from NBCUniversal, announced that it had picked up a five-part limited series spinoff of “Days of our Lives,” entitled “Days of our Lives: Beyond Salem.” While the premiere date was not released as the logo/banner (shown above) for the new show only revealed it as “coming soon,” it looks like the cat is now out of the bag courtesy of Twitter.

In a since-deleted tweet from earlier today, in response to a fan named “Mary,” the @PeacockTVCare Twitter handle, which is the official support handle for the Peacock service, inadvertently revealed that the new series will premiere on Monday, September 6. “Hi Mary! Thank you for reaching out. Days Of Our Lives: Beyond Salem will be available on Peacock starting 9/6/21. We hope this helps! Please DM us if you need anything else,” read the tweet before it was deleted. No additional details were revealed.

As previously reported, former “DAYS” cast member and current “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Lisa Rinna will reprise her role as Billie Reed for the first time since 2018. She’ll be joined by current “DAYS” cast members Deidre Hall, Drake Hogestyn, Jackée Harry, Victoria Konefal, Robert Scott Wilson, Billy Flynn, Lamon Archey and Sal Stowers for a story that brings their characters out of Salem as they each travel to different parts of the globe.

In the story, the Salemites spend time over a long weekend scattered around different parts of the world: John and Marlena (Hall and Hogestyn) travel to Zurich, Ben and Ciara (Wilson and Konefal) have a romantic getaway in New Orleans, Chad (Flynn) visits some old friends in Phoenix, and Abe, Paulina, Lani, and Eli (Reynolds, Harry, Archey and Stowers) vacation in Miami. What they don’t realize is that they are all part of a mystery involving stolen jewels which, in the wrong hands, could cause dire consequences for Salem. Enter ISA agent Reed (Rinna) as she crosses the globe in search of the missing treasure.

According to intel from Jason47, the premiere “DAYS” historian, filming began this week with multiple under five roles being cast that far outweighs the norm that the mothership handles, including prison guards, drag queens, pool party guests, an “attractive” gay male couple, “great looking” real-life couples, and even a look-alike for the famed Olympian Harold Sakata particularly in recognition of his role as “Oddjob” in the James Bond film “Goldfinger.” There’s even a note to Google Sakata for a better understanding of what they are looking for.

“Days of our Lives: Beyond Salem” is being executive produced by Ken Corday with Albert Alarr serving as co-executive producer. Ron Carlivati is the head writer. Corday Productions in association with Sony Pictures Television are the lead studios just as they are on “DAYS.”
