UPDATED (Tuesday, July 20, 2021) w/UNROUNDED FIGURES: “Days of our Lives” hit a new series low with a 0.23 rating in Women 18-49. “The Bold and the Beautiful” and “The Young and the Restless” were in a virtual tie for second place in Women 25-54 with “B&B” at a 0.73 rating and “Y&R” at a 0.74 rating. The second half-hour of “The Price is Right” led in the category with a 0.78 rating in the demo.

The chart has been updated to reflect the unrounded figures.

PREVIOUS (Tuesday, July 13, 2021): “The Bold and the Beautiful” is thriving this summer as multiple storylines reached their climax during the week of July 5-9, 2021, including the fallout from Carter (Lawrence Saint-Victor) and Quinn’s (Rena Sofer) deception, Thomas’ (Mathew Atkinson) escape from Justin’s (Aaron D. Spears) jail as he and Hope (Annika Noelle) fought against time to get the real story about Vinny’s (Joe LoCicero) death to the police in order to save Liam (Scott Clifton) from a lengthy prison sentence.

Attracting its second-largest audience of the season, and best since the week of February 8-12, 2021, “B&B” averaged 3.032 million viewers last week. The soap was in a three-way tie for second place in Women 25-54 in the rounded figures available to Soap Opera Network. The soap tied with “The Young and the Restless” and the first half-hour of “The Price is Right” (repeat) in the demo with a 0.7 rating. The second half-hour of “The Price is Right” (repeat) remained number one with a 0.8 rating. In fifth place was “General Hospital” with a 0.6 rating.

In Women 18-49, the second half-hour of “Price is Right” (repeat) and “Y&R” tied for first place, both with a 0.5 rating (rounded). “Days of our Lives” and “The Talk” tied for last place in the demo, both with a 0.2 rating (rounded).

Note: Unrounded figures were not available at press time. Positions will change once those figures are released.

In Total Viewers, despite both half hours in repeats, “The Price is Right” remained daytime broadcast’s most-watched series with 4.398 million viewers for the second half-hour and 3.855 million viewers watching the first half-hour. “Y&R” placed third with 3.341 million viewers, followed by the aforementioned “B&B” with 3.032 million viewers. Also in repeats, the second half-hour of “Let’s Make a Deal” took up the fifth-place position with 2.738 million viewers. Both “DAYS” and “General Hospital” improved in viewership week to week. “GH” attracted 2.105 million viewers while “DAYS” averaged 1.625 million viewers, a major improvement from its series low two weeks earlier.

What follows is a breakdown of how the daytime shows performed for the week of July 5-9, 2021, sorted by Women 25-54 rating. A closer look at the daytime soaps, including their daily performance in the demos, will be posted soon. Additionally, this post will be updated with unrounded figures as soon as they become available.
