The Wednesday, January 27 episode of “General Hospital” will incorporate elements of its lead-in, “GMA3: What You Need to Know,” when a crossover of sorts with the ABC News program takes place in-story on the daytime drama series.

In the episode, Sasha (Sofia Mattsson) is being interviewed by Jackie Templeton (Kim Delaney) for “GMA3” in Port Charles at the Metro Court when a major secret is set to be revealed. In teasers, it looks like Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) offers her support to Sasha when Peter (Wes Ramsey) publishes a disconcerting article.
According to Soap Opera Digest, which first reported the news in its newest issue, on newsstands now, the magazine highlights an on-set photo of Mattsson’s Sasha being interviewed by Delaney’s Jackie “in what is being played on the show as a remote segment for the ABC news and lifestyle program.”
The last time a similar crossover took place was in May 2013 when Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) and AJ Quartermaine (Sean Kanan) appeared on “The Chew” (via “GH”) for a segment to determine whose pickle relish was better. Unlike “The Chew”/”GH” crossover, which included the foodie show’s co-hosts (Mario Batali, Carla Hall, Clinton Kelly and Daphne Oz) appearing on the soap, no one from “GMA3” will appear on “GH.”
