The final batch of original episodes of “The Young and the Restless” and “The Bold and the Beautiful” aired during the week of April 20-24, 2020, and with that we start our first weekly Live+7 ratings report for the daytime broadcast television shows aired on ABC, CBS, and NBC.

“General Hospital” was the week’s biggest gainer in Total Viewers, Women 18-49, Women 25-54, and Adults 18-49. The ABC series gained anywhere between 24% and 29% in the key sales demos when adding in delayed numbers. The soap gained the most viewers overall for the week with 364,000 viewers watching the soap over seven days. “Y&R” gained the second largest audience in delayed viewers with 291,000 viewers added while “The Today Show II,” “Pandemic: What You Need to Know” and “The Today Show with Hoda & Jenna” gained no new viewers after seven days. “The Talk” was the least-watched daytime show for the week in all categories. “Y&R” attracted its largest audience in three weeks (since 03/30/2020; 4,457,000) and “B&B” attracted its largest audience in four weeks (since 03/23/2020; 3,840,000).

Below are the daytime broadcast television Live+7 rankings for the week of April 20-24, 2020.

Each week Soap Opera Network reports on how many viewers watched a particular soap opera. The numbers we publish have traditionally been Live+Same Day, meaning viewers watched the show as it aired in its regular time slot up to 2:00 a.m. EDT the next day. Live+7, however, differs in that it includes viewership up to seven days after the original broadcast. So, if you watch a show within seven days after it originally aired your viewership would be counted as long as you are an official Nielsen household.
