For nearly thirty years Kim Zimmer portrayed the iconic Reva Shayne on “Guiding Light,” but you may not have known that she’s also the real-life mother of “Animal Kingdom” star Jake Weary. On Friday, April 10 at 5:00 p.m. EDT/2:00 p.m. PDT, join mother and son as they come together for the latest virtual conversation featured on “The Locher Room.” Weary is releasing a new song entitled “Mist of the Pine” and its music video on Friday and will discuss that with fans.
Weary is no stranger to daytime soaps. The actor portrayed a younger Luke Snyder on “As The World Turns” in 2005. He’s also appeared in two “Law & Order” franchise shows and starred as Kevin in Nickelodeon’s “Fred” series, including the movies and the show. He’s currently starring as Denar Cody in TNT’s “Animal Kingdom.” The series was renewed for a fifth season which is expected to release sometime later this year.
After “GL” concluded in 2009, Zimmer reprised her role of Echo DiSavoy on “One Life to Live.” She portrayed the character just before heading to Springfield for a lengthy and four-time Daytime Emmy Award-winning run.
“The Locher Room” is a new YouTube channel run by Alan Locher, former publicist for “As The World Turns” and “Guiding Light.” Since debuting on Friday, April 3, the channel has featured cast reunions from both soaps with more on the way.
