“The Price is Right” announcer George Gray is currently in the hospital after suffering from three massive heart attacks last week. “George is recovering at the hospital and is in good spirits,” a rep for Gray said in a statement released to Deadline and other industry trades. “His wife, Brittney, is by his ‘side,’ considering the COVID-19 protocols are in effect,” the rep added, referring to the family being unable to physically be with their loved one during the pandemic as a precaution.

“His wife is by his side and he is looking to make a full recovery,” said the rep to Deadline, adding the announcer is thankful to his friends and fans for “the outpouring of love and support.”

First reported by TMZ, Gray, 53, is said to have been transported to the hospital on Monday after experiencing chest pains. While in the ambulance he suffered a heart attack. Doctors inserted a stent to restore blood flow to one of his arteries soon after. When it failed, Gray suffered another heart attack. Another stent was inserted to increase blood flow. It failed as well and Gray suffered a third heart attack during the operation.

Gray became the fourth announcer for “The Price is Right” in 2011. He replaced Los Angeles meteorologist Rich Fields who held the job from 2004 to 2010. During the period in which Fields departed and Gray was hired, several prominent comedians took on announcing duties.
