After nine years as head of CBS Daytime, Angelica McDaniel has left the company following a restructuring that leaves the formative executive without a position at the network. She will not be replaced and CBS’ daytime programming block, which consists of soap operas “The Bold and the Beautiful” and “The Young and the Restless,” game shows “The Price is Right” and “Let’s Make a Deal,” and “The Talk,” will now be overseen by the Current Programming department headed by Amy Reisenbach. ABC and NBC made similar decisions with their daytime programming blocks in recent years.

“Angelica McDaniel championed our daytime series line up with creativity, passion and energy and broke new ground by helping launch the Network’s first daytime talk show in years while respecting the long history and tradition of the dramas and game shows,” said Kelly Kahl, President, CBS Entertainment, in a statement. “We appreciate her many contributions and wish her well on her next endeavors.”

In addition to her role as Executive Vice President, Daytime Programs, CBS Entertainment, McDaniel also oversaw CBS’ FCC educational/informational compliant programming block on Saturdays, “CBS Dream Team… It’s Epic!” and in February 2015 was tasked with creating programming in all genres, including talk, newsmagazines, game shows, and court as part of her responsibilities in handling first-run programming development for CBS Television Distribution.

McDaniel, whose last day at the network was today, played a significant role in launching “The Talk” shortly after joining the network. The series, which is entering its tenth season on Monday, September 9, will add Marie Osmond to the hosting panel alongside returning hosts Sharon Osbourne, Sheryl Underwood, Eve and Carrie Ann Inaba.

Deadline first reported the news.
