CBS’ “The Talk” was down week-to-week in Total Viewers and Women 25-54, while increasing slightly in Women 18-49, during the week of July 24-28, 2017, according to Live + Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. Meanwhile, “The View” increased in all three categories.

For the week, “The View” averaged 2.644 million Total Viewers, 441,000 Women 25-54 and 318,000 Women 18-49. The ABC chat show beat CBS’ “The Talk” (2.389 million, 385,000 and 274,000, respectively) in Total Viewers (+255,000), Women 25-54 (+56,000) and Women 18-49 (+44,000), marking “The View’s” largest viewer advantage in 8 weeks – since 5/29/17.

“The Talk” saw week-to-week decreases (2.429 million and 398,000, respectively, for w/o 7/17/17) in Total Viewers and Women 25-54. The show was up slightly in Women 18-49.

Week-to-week, “The View” was up in Total Viewers (+2%), Women 25-54 (+9%) and Women 18-49 (+8%), scoring its best performance in Total Viewers and Women 25-54 in 6 weeks – since w/o 6/12/17.

While “The View” and “The Talk” do not directly compete in daytime markets, ratings wise the two have battled it out for dominance as the daypart’s most sought after talkers in the Nielsen ratings.
