Mackenzie Mauzy (ex-Phoebe Forrester, The Bold and the Beautiful) tackles the real-life role of Linda Kasabian in Lifetime’s “Manson’s Lost Girls.” The movie, which debuted Saturday, February 6, is available On Demand.

To prep for the part, Mauzy told Soap Opera Digest she watched documentaries from Kasabian’s perspective on YouTube and read prosecutor Vincent Bugliosi‘s book, Helter Skelter, as did many of the cast members.  “We all talked with each other about what we found and took it from there,” said Mauzy. “It was a good work experience.”

“Manson’s Lost Girls” explores the psychedelic summer of 1969 and paints a new picture of Charles Manson‘s (Jeff Ward) world, as told through the stories of Linda Kasabian and the other women who fell under his demonic spell. It follows Linda as she first arrives at Spahn Ranch and is embraced with open arms. Seduced by the hippie commune’s free-love lifestyle, Linda revels in the sisterhood and acceptance. Taken with Manson, he soon draws her into criminal activities, including late-night “creepy crawls” to steal from lavish homes.

Linda reluctantly becomes an accomplice in Manson’s “Helter Skelter,” a drug-fueled murder spree that included the brutal death of actress Sharon Tate. But she  ultimately breaks away and turns herself in as a witness for the prosecution and helps convict Manson.

Also starring in the movie are Eden Brolin as Susan Atkins, Greer Grammer as Leslie Van Houten; Christian Madsen as Tex Watson; Grace Victoria Cox as Lynnette “Squeaky” Fromme, Isabel Shill  as Patricia Krenwinkel and Garrett Coffey as Bobby Beausoleil.
