Fans of CBS’ “The Bold and the Beautiful” were in for the shock of their lives when they witnessed the death of Aly Forrester at the hands of Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) late last month on the daytime drama series. In an interview with Soap Opera Digest, on sale Friday, portrayer Ashlyn Pearce talks about how she learned of her characters’ ultimate demise and what the fan response has been like since the storyline twist kicked into high gear.

Pearce, who joined the “B&B” cast in 2013, learned of Aly’s death via a call from Head Writer/Executive Producer Bradley P. Bell, “Of course, my first thought was, ‘Oh, no. This is the death of my character and I’m really sad about that,'” said Pearce. “Aly resonated with a lot of viewers, but the magnitude of people who were sad about losing this character … it touched me,” she added. “That’s when it hit me that, ‘Wow, this is really over.'”

To hear more from Pearce on her “B&B” exit, pick up the latest issue of Digest on Friday. In the meantime, what do you think of the show killing off the character?
