On Saturday, September 14, “The Young and the Restless’” Max Ehrich (Fen Baldwin), Melissa Ordway (Abby Newman) and Hunter King (Summer Newman) will be on hand as part of the Los Angeles portion of the 5th annual “Get Your Licks on Route 66” adoption tour, which was founded by FIDO Friendly magazine publisher, Susan Sims. The trio will appear at the East Valley Animal shelter in Van Nuys from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM alongside Ashley Bell, the official “Licks” tour spokesperson, actress and animal lover.
Noting that the tour has helped find over 1500 pets new permanent homes since its inception, Sims says, “My husband Greg and I are lucky to be able to bring our two rescue dogs, Jake and Junior along for the ride in our Ford sponsored F150 this year. While we place them in doggy daycare during event days, we are able to focus on the task at hand of shedding light on the plight of homeless pets across the country.”
Every dog that is adopted during the tour will have their photo taken in consideration for future use in an upcoming issue of FIDO Friendly magazine, the publication says.
