Clearing Up the Rumor: Chrishell Stause is Not Leaving 'All My Children'

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — In its latest issue on newsstands now, Soap Opera Digest is reporting that there are rumors that "All My Children's" Chrishell Stause (Amanda Martin) will be leaving the recently canceled soap opera prior to its January 2012 finale, even though the soap last airs on Friday, September 23, 2011 and yes, they wrote that in their magazine, not I. Either which way, Soap Opera Network spoke with Stause herself right after the Twitter controversy that sparked Digest's report.

The story, first reported by Soap Opera Network on Monday, April 25, goes that Stause had tweeted Ryan Basford, a talent production assistant at E!'s "Chelsea Lately" and friend of the actress, with the comment "I wish I could say-but there are serious talks going on I found out for sure. I'm leaving anyway-but I want the show to go on!" when asked if recently canceled "AMC" would be picked up by a cable network now that ABC doesn't want it. Clarifying her comment, Stause told Soap Opera Network that "I just meant I don't plan on staying for years to come, but I would like the show to continue for years to come :)" The actress echoed this statement with a tweet to her more than 12,000 followers earlier this evening by saying "The rumor that I'm leaving, is just that. It was misconstrued from a tweet to a friend trying to tell them that although I don't plan on being on 'AMC' for years to come, I still wanted ['AMC'] to be on years to come."

Stause joined the cast of "All My Children" in May 2005. At one time the actress had been under contract with the ABC soap, but was dropped to recurring status in 2009 by her own choosing.
