So you heard the story about ABC being sued for unpaid residuals owed to the estate of “General Hospital” creators Frank and Doris Hursley? Did you know that their children are Bridget Dobson, Deborah Hardy and Polly Keusnik? Why is that important? According to The Hollywood Reporter, two of the three women were writers on “GH” way back when and in the case of Bridget Dobson, she and her husband, Jerome, co-created NBC’s cult classic “Santa Barbara.” During the time the two were at odds with NBC, current “GH” executive producer, Jill Farren Phelps, oversaw the day-to-day operations of “Barbara.” Did you also know that five years ago ABC faced another “GH” related lawsuit courtesy of fired actress Kari Wuhrer, who played Reese Marshall or the REAL Carly Roberts (there goes ABC with that REAL talk again) after she accused the network of firing her for being pregnant? The drama at this network just doesn’t stop!

Per THR, the Hursley children are suing ABC for unspecified damages alleging “breach of contract, breach of the implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing, money had and received and an accounting.” The suit was filed Tuesday, April 26 in Los Angeles Superior Court around the time soap fans were protesting the cancellations of “All My Children” and “One Life to Live” around the nation.

I’m no lawyer, but clearly, they want the money owed to them and they want ABC to hand over those accounting books to get it. SOAPnet, look how much damage you’ve caused ABC! They can’t get rid of you fast enough.
