Kaye In-Talks with

(SoapOperaNetwork) — With “All My Children” scheduled to end production permanently in just a little over three months, news of the expected casting shake-ups at the soap are being revealed every day. Forty-eight hours after reports leaked that Cady McClain is in-talks to return as Dixie Cooney, the love of Tad Martin’s (Michael E. Knight) life, comes the report that Thorsten Kaye is also in-talks to return as Zach Slater, the love of Kendall Hart’s (Alicia Minshew) life. Just as many fans speculated after the April 14 cancellation announcement preceding the Easter break, both returns are suspected to be a sure thing.

Kaye first aired in the role of casino owner Zach Slater on May 20, 2004. He last aired on contract five and a half years later on December 29, 2009. The four-time Daytime Emmy nominee, twice for his role on “AMC,” has returned for several short stints on the soap since that departure. In 2010, the actor totaled 22 episodes – appearing from January 5 – 6, April 13 – 16, August 16 – 26 and from October 22 – November 16. Before joining “AMC, Kaye played Patrick Thornhart on “One Life to Live” from October 1995 – September 1997 and Ian Thornhart on “Port Charles” from May 2000 until its last episode in October 2003.

Whether the deceased Mr. Slater will return in the flesh or in the spirit remains to be seen. Ditto for the deceased Ms. Cooney, who is no stranger to returning from the dead. Stay with Soap Opera Network for more information on these expected returns and other suspected returns, as the casting world turns for “AMC” in the next days, weeks and months.
