(SoapOperaNetwork.com) –

The Martin’s lose a son in the new year. Finn Wittrock and “All My Children” set to part ways.

Early last week, Soaps In Depth broke the news that Finn Wittrock is out as Tad Martin’s (Michael E. Knight) surprise son, Damon Miller.

Although, SID alluded to the actor being let go, a spokesperson for the show reports that the actor “reached the end of his contract and decided that he didn’t want to renew it.” Wittrock debuted on “All My Children” in October 2008.

The Julliard graduate is reportedly dating Brittany Allen, who was let go as “AMC’s” Marissa Tasker earlier this fall (Allen last airs on Monday, December 20). Wittrock is currently starring in a production of “The Laramie Project” with The Mechanicals Theatre Group. The young actor, who is reportedly in good spirits, told SID that he’ll continue taping at “AMC” for a few more weeks. Damon’s exit will tie in to the growing connection between Damon and his boss and girlfriend’s mother, Liza Colby (Jamie Luner), escalating.

Look for Damon to continue to air through January 2011.

“All My Children” airs Weekdays on ABC. Anytime on ABC.com.
