(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — After portraying Jonathan Lavery for three years on ABC's "All My Children," to his stint as Shayne Lewis from 2008-2009 on CBS' "Guiding Light," actor Jeff Branson is joining the cast of CBS soap "The Young and the Restless." He joins former "All My Children" cast mates Eden Riegel (Heather Stevens) and Elizabeth Hendrickson (Chloe Mitchell) and "Guiding Light" actors John Driscall  (Chance Chancellor) and Marcy Rylan (Abby Carlton), who currently star as part of the young adult set on the drama series.

CBS Soaps in Depth is reporting that Branson will portray the role of Detective Ronan Malloy, Chance's new partner. His first airdate is set for Tuesday, June 22.

In addition to his work on the soaps, Branson has appeared in such series as "Strangers with Candy" and "Law & Order: Special Victim's Unit." He can next be seen in the film "I Spit on Your Grave," which is set for release in September. The film tells the story of a writer who was attacked during a retreat at her cabin, who seeks revenge on those who left her to die.

"The Young and the Restless" airs Weekdays on CBS. Anytime on CBS.com.
