(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — Thorsten Kaye and Alicia Minshew bring Mr. and Mrs. Slater back to “All My Children” for a short stint in April.

Soap Opera Digest is reporting that Thorsten Kaye and Alicia Minshew will both be making a short-term return to “All My Children” this April. Minshew, who has played Kendall Hart Slater since 2002, will first air on Friday, April 9. Kaye, who played Zach Slater from spring 2004 until earlier this year, will first air on Tuesday, April 13. It appears that the return episodes will focus on business partners and notorious frenemies Kendall and back-from-the-dead Greenlee (Rebecca Budig) dealing with the fateful events that went down in the winter of 2009.

At “AMC” Exexutive Producer Julie Hanan Carruthers request, which included agreeing to flip the bill for Minshew’s husband Richie Herschenfeld and her new baby daughter Willow Lenora to join the new mother in Los Angeles, Minshew agreed to return for the short stint. The visit interrupts Minshew’s extended maternity leave which is expected to run through this spring. One of daytime’s hardest worked and hardest working actresses, the Emmy-nominated Minshew ironically nearly had her baby on the set of “AMC” last November. Little Willow arrived a month early, during the actresses’ last week of taping pre-maternity leave in New York City.

Speaking of Minshew, SOAPnet has put to rest (for the time being) recent rumors that the actress will tape her final scenes of “AMC” early this spring in New York City. The site reports that Minshew’s April return is a “precursor to her anticipated return following her maternity leave.”

The actress tells SOD that co-star and good friend Kaye told her “If you go, I’ll go!” upon learning that she had agreed to the stint. The popular actor obviously kept to his word. Kaye opted to discontinue his relationship with “AMC” last fall correlating with the soaps production move to Los Angeles. Kaye’s partner, two-time Emmy winner Susan Haskell, currently stars on ABC’s “One Life to Live” which tapes in New York City. The couple shares two children.

Kaye and Minshew are not the only actors returning to “AMC” for short stints, Julia Barr and Cady McClain (who play Brooke English and Dixie Cooney, respectively) aside, Taylor Miller returns as Nina this spring as “AMC” celebrates the life and times of Palmer Cortlandt. James Mitchell, who played the lovable tycoon, died in January.

“All My Children” airs Weekdays on ABC. Weeknights on SOAPnet. Check local listings. “AMC” now also airs online at ABC.com and can be accessed 24/7.
