As The World Turns (SoapOperaNetwork.com) — Further confirming that “Guiding Light” will truly come to an end when it last airs on Friday, September 18 on CBS, TeleNext Media, producers of the soap, announced on Wednesday, July 8 that “Guiding Light” Head Writer David Kreizman will join the writing team of “As The World Turns” along-side Head Writer Jean Passanante, thereby forming a New Headwriting team for the soap. The announcement was made by “As The World Turns” Executive Producer, Christopher Goutman.

“I am thrilled that Dave and Jean will make up the new headwriting team for ‘As The World Turns,'” said Goutman. “Both writers have an incredible respect for the show’s rich history and I am confident this partnership will generate the exciting, character-based stories for which ‘As The World Turns’ is known for.”

Before joining the writing team of “Guiding Light” in 1997, Kreizman was a Production Intern with the soap in 1995 and served as a Production Coordinator and an Associate Producer. In 2004, he was named Headwriter for which he won a 2007 Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing Team in a Drama Series. In 2001, Kreizman was part of the writing team of MTV’s “Spyder Games,” the short-lived soap opera that spawned a large cult-following upon its cancellation.

Jean Passanante was named Head Writer of “As The World Turns” in 2005, following the departure of Hogan Sheffer, who now serves as a Co-Head Writer on CBS’ “The Young and the Restless.”

“As The World Turns” airs Weekdays on CBS. Anytime on CBS.com. Check local listings.
