(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — After a seven year absence, actress Sarah Brown is set to make her long awaited return to “General Hospital.”

Sarah Brown

On Friday, November 30, rumors began floating around the net after Brown’s official website stated “Sarah is returning to ‘General Hospital.’ More details to come…”. With those few words written, Sarah was said to be returning as Carly Corinthos, the role she originated in 1996, to playing a new character with ties to the mob, and lastly the real Carly Roberts (last played by Kari Wuhrer).

An ABC rep was able to confirm that Sarah is returning to “General Hospital” in early 2008, but was unable to say who she will be playing or provide a set airdate.

Although Brown originated the role of Carly Corinthos in 1996, she isn’t the only actress to have played her. Tamara Braun (Carly #2, 2001-2005), Jennifer Bransford (Carly #3, 2005) and currently Laura Wright (Carly #4, 2005-present) have brought their own personal touches to the character.

Brown’s other credits include a starring role in the children series “VR Troopers” and a stint on CBS’ “As The World Turns” as Julia Larrabee Jackson. Her more recent credits include a part on the big screen in “Big Momma’s House 2” and tonight she will appear in an episode of FOX’s “K-Ville,” where she will play an Eileen McGillis.
