(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — Teen actor, Chace Crawford, signs on with the CW network to co-star in the upcoming teen drama, “Gossip Girls.”

Natalia Livingston

The CW network has found it’s leading male for their upcoming teen drama, “Gossip Girls.” Chace Crawford, (“The Covenant”) will star along side Blake Lively (“Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants”) and Leighton Meester (“Surface”) in the yet-to-be released pilot. Crawford will play Nate, the rich boyfriend of Blair (Meester), and the object of Serena’s (Lively) affection.

In a previous report, “Gossip Girls” was taken from the popular book series of the same name, which weaves the story of New York’s rich and spoiled through the eyes of an anoymous blogger. It is through the blogger’s eyes that viewers will see the friendship of Serena and Blake unfold. Although close friends, both girls are in constant competition with one another; and Nate happens to be the one they are competing for.

Crawford got his acting start in the Lifetime television movie “Long Lost Son,” in the title role of Mark, a young boy thought to have drowned in a boating accident, only to be discovered to be alive and living with the father that staged the accident. He currently wrapped up filming on the upcoming film “Loaded,” which stars Jesse Metcalef (“Passions,” “Desperate Housewives,”) Monica Keena (“Man of the House,”) and Nathalie Kelley (“The Fast and the Furious.”) and will start filming its sequel “Reloaded.”

Taylor Momsen (“How the Grinch Stole Christmas”) has also been selected to star in “Gossip Girls.” Her character has not yet been determined at this current time.

Crawford’s movie, “Loaded” will hit theaters November of this year. No word yet, however, as to when the CW pilot will hit airwaves.
